Our Manchester Disability, Equality and Inclusion Partnership (OMDEIP) Friday 28 October at 1pm to 1:45pm Over the course of the conversation, attendees will learn how they could develop their Disability Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Plans and improve opportunities for disabled people in Manchester. The event will be held through Eventbrite and a Teams link will be provided to attendees before the event.

The Yard Sale is an exciting, new community pop up event in the heart of Manchester’s Cheetham Hill, bringing the old nostalgia of car boot and flea sales together with a dose of good music and good vibes with local food vendors, community gathering, craft activities and a focus on sustainable living.

Catch22
Training and Work Experience Opportunity for Tech young people 1 November Are you working with a young person that wants a Tech/IT role? Are they keen to receive training, work experience and opportunities to be enrolled onto apprenticeships with Salesforce?
The programme runs for 2 days a week for 2 weeks and is done completely remotely using Microsoft Teams. After completing the programme training with Catch 22 everyone will be eligible to have work experience (fully remote) with Salesforce, 3 days a week for 3 weeks. On completion they have the opportunity to go onto Salesforce Pathfinder scheme that will lead to further employment opportunities.

Money Matters Tuesday 1 to Wednesday 2 November Their money management programme offers insight, knowledge and the relevant skills to allow you to control your money and where it goes.
Low Carbon Careers course
Groundwork Greater Manchester are running a number of employment courses for people looking to start their career in the green economy (Retrofit, Natural Environment, Waste and Energy sector).
For unemployed GM residents aged 19+. Each person will undertake 3 to 4 weeks of classroom based learning followed by a 2 week work placement and 3 month support into employment by our dedicated employment coaches.

Business Growth Hub Start Up Vision
Start Up Vision is a brand-new initiative, aimed at pre-start or early-stage businesses (less than 1 year old) based in Greater Manchester.
Programme participants will get fully funded access to practical, hands-on advice and support from an experienced business adviser. Together, you will develop a personalised action plan for your new business to enable you to take the next steps to success.
Where relevant, you could also gain access to funded training courses and workshops or practical ‘done for you’ support services.
Whether you want to learn more about business registration; cashflow management and book keeping; brand identity and marketing strategy; developing ecommerce capability; improving your social media skills; building a website; getting started with e-marketing; or something else, they want to help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to put your ideas into action.
Catch22 The Digital Edge Programme The programme runs for 2 days a week for 4 weeks and is done completely remotely using Microsoft Teams. This programme is funded by Microsoft that aims to help people between 18 and 45 into the Tech industry. After completing the programme you will then have access to 1 2 1 career coaching and in work support once they find employment.
Over the 4 week programme you will get vital employability skills training, insight into the digital and technology sector whilst doing practical activities and gain confidence in applying for digital apprenticeships or entry level IT roles, with the view of launching their career.
You should be:
- Interested in a digital and tech industry
- 18 to 45 years old
- Access to laptop/computer and headphones
- Based in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London
- Not in Education or Employment
- Have the right to work within the UK
- Have a basic level of IT Skills
The programme covers the different type of tech roles available in the industry, the different tech jargon terms, how to tailor a cover letter and CV to these specific positions and they even do group projects. Alongside their facilitators they do have guest speakers from Tech Apprenticeships providers, and Microsoft staff also speak to the group about the tech industry.

Citizens Advice Household Support Citizens Advice Manchester currently have a pot of funding for Manchester residents who may be struggling financially. Families can receive support of up £100. There are no fixed criteria, and Citizens Advice will speak to residents directly to assess.

Digital Advantage DISC (Digital Inc. Specialist College) They have both full and part-time opportunities for 6 to 12 months agency work experience in their Manchester city centre workspace. DISC will be opening its doors to support young people with a flair for digital and creative technology to prepare for adulthood and employment. Over the course of their time, the groups will develop their digital and creative work-based skills, improve their confidence and employability prospects and be supported into an apprenticeship, employment, self-employment or other positive destinations.
FastFutures Fast Futures is fully online, and is a mix of self-paced learning, live classes and virtual mentoring for young people age 18 to 24.
It lasts for 12 weeks and you'll need to have 10 to 12 hours a week to commit to the programme. The programme will help you to sharpen your employability skills, get a first-class CV, give you career guidance from business experts and help you to be a standout candidate.

GMCA and Stay Nimble Friendly career support for over 50s Are you over 50 and need help figuring out your next work move, or finding a path to better-paid work? You may be eligible for free 6 hours online support from a qualified career coach, if you're aged 50+ and:
- are in receipt of one or more of: Universal Credit (UC), Job Seeker's Allowance (JSA), Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit (CTC), Working Tax Credit (WTC) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Good Jobs Project The Good Jobs Project will support Greater Manchester (GM) participants. They will raise awareness of local job opportunities and provide information, advice, guidance, training, and job brokerage – placing residents into work through a range of opportunities within the North Manchester area, as well as with established employers

Government - Skills Toolkit Free courses are available through an online platform launched by the government last year. The Skills Toolkit gives you access to free, high-quality digital and numeracy courses to help build up your skills, progress in work and boost your job prospects.
Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP) Fully funded green employment opportunities One Manchester can offer funding to Manchester based employer hosts, to create and test new Green Employment roles. The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP) project will create a total of 125 supported green jobs in areas such as sustainability, retrofit, construction, environmental management, recycling & reuse, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. This programme can also support a wider range of roles that can demonstrate a link to the environment and carbon reduction.
Supported green jobs will be of 3 to 6 months in duration and funded by One Manchester as part-time flexible job placements (15 hours per week) paid at Real Living Wage. Recruitment will be targeted to individuals who are unemployed, and who face barriers to employment.
Individuals recruited to the roles will benefit from additional support from a Green Employment Coach providing, employment support, coaching, and referral into aligned training offers.

Hospitality Skills Academy for young people The Hospitality Skills Academy is a ‘one-stop’ shop of training and support; working with quality assured partners, who bring to the table their own expertise. Through their work with young people and the next generation of employees, they can ensure that this vibrant, creative industry, is recognised for the exciting opportunities it can offer for career progression.
They also have their Skills Support for Growth programme for 15 to 24 year olds in Manchester; the programme is led by the young person to develop their pathway into EET with support from Sarah who is their Young Persons Engagement and Progression Coach.

Let's Get Digital
As the cost of living crisis continues, the MCC Digital Inclusion team want to share the support they can offer to residents who are struggling.
From cheap laptops and PCs to free WiFi and smartphones, they can get the kit and data that residents need to get online. And for those who need to boost their digital skills, there are many locations across the city offering free classes and drop ins. They have created this directory where you can filter by postcode or ward to find your nearest class

Motiv8 Are you aged over 25, living in Greater Manchester and not in employment or training? If so, they can help you get back on track and move you nearer to training, job searching and employment opportunities.
They will support you with a personal action plan that is unique to your own needs. Your issues can range from debt and financial hardship, homelessness, domestic abuse, physical health, mental wellbeing and alcohol and drug dependency - and many more besides.
By helping to improve your health and wellbeing, self-confidence, self-esteem, finance and employability skills they will improve your chances of accessing training or finding a job.

National Careers Service Skills Assessments The National Careers Service have free online careers assessments which anyone can fill in to find out what sort of careers you may be suited to. Whether you are out of work at the moment, furloughed or interested in exploring other career options, you are invited to have a go at one of their short assessments.
NatWest CareerSense
NatWest CareerSense is currently offering two workshops that will help your students explore different career pathways, and help them build upon their transferable skills.
CareerSense Exploration Workshop The CareerSense Exploration Workshop is a free learning resource focused on employability skills and building students’ career confidence, designed for students in Year 9/S3 and upwards.
CareerSense Dream Bigger The CareerSense Dream Bigger workshop has been designed to get students to ‘Dream Bigger’ by developing their skills and resilience, helping them to level up their transferable skills for the future world of work, designed for young people aged 16-18.
Find Your Potential In addition to the Exploration Workshop and CareerSense Dream Bigger Workshop, NatWest CareerSense also offers a tool called ‘Find Your Potential’. This online tool will help you better understand your skills and motivations through a series of easy questions. On completion of the tool, you’ll get a report that includes some example job types in their sector too. The Find Your Potential tool can be found on the homepage of mycareersense.com where you’ll also find other learning resources.

One Manchester Placement opportunities
One Manchester have various placement opportunities on the Hospitality Employability Programme:
The programme is 10 weeks with an 8 week work experience placement within the hospitality industry. The hours are flexible, depending on the YP and can vary from 4-12 hours per week. The aim of the programme is to give YP the opportunity to learn new skills and gain transferable skills to take onto future employment. Criteria is 16-25 years old, NEET or at risk of becoming NEET. If someone is working or studying part time up to 16 hours and want to gain skills they can come on the programme.

One Manchester Skills Support for Growth Do you work with young people aged 15 to 24? One Manchester now have a tailored and flexible service to work with young people. Their support looks to offer a positive step towards employment, apprenticeships, traineeships or further education. The Skills Support for Growth (SSG) service includes:
- One-to-one advice, guidance and employment support
- Work experience in various sectors such as catering, retail, creative,
construction and grounds maintenance
- Accredited training suited to the individual
- Confidence and skills training
- Support to make the transition to mainstream education or employment easier

Scope Individual Pathway of Support Scope provide employment advice to disabled people wherever they are on their journey into work, you could be looking for volunteering to gain that first step or be looking for a new paid opportunity . Each person who joins the service will have support from an Employment adviser for up to 13 weeks to support them to reach their employment goal which could be by;
- identifying their strengths and transferable skills
- developing confidence and job skills like time management
- reviewing their CV to meet your employment goals
- how and where to look for jobs
- mock interviews
- how to talk to your employer about their impairment and reasonable adjustments
You will have access to their selection of training modules and their online job board, which has exclusive vacancies from partner organisations, recruiters, and employers who are committed to employing more disabled people. The Service is free and open to people who are:
- disabled or have an impairment or condition
- living in Greater Manchester
- aged 16 and over
Starting Line pre employment training course Scope are here to support and work with people with any disability, learning difficulty, mental health condition (e.g. anxiety, depression), physical impairment, sensory impairment, or long term health condition, and anybody who is neurodivergent, including autistic people. This service is most suitable for people who haven't worked before or not worked for a long time and are not currently working. Starting Line is a 7 week group course, covering a range of modules in pre employability skills, combined with one to one tailored support and guidance. Upon completion of the course, customers can expect to finish with; goal setting skills, an updated and improved CV, interview skills, sector specific job search knowledge, and guidance on how to talk about their disability / health condition. Serco and Skills for Growth Digital Careers Upskill Programme Free training opportunity for employed people in Greater Manchester! If you work in Greater Manchester’s digital, creative and tech industry, or would like to, you could benefit from new, fully-funded training through Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Skills for Growth programme.
The Digital Careers Upskill Programme will support both people currently working in the digital field to upskill their existing knowledge base in order to progress, as well as re-skilling individuals working across different sectors who would like to get into a digital-focused career.

SharpFutures Digital Youth Hub Do you know someone who has recently completed their exams, graduated or is looking to develop new creative digital skills & switch career? Then Smart Works Greater Manchester is for you. Smart Works is a female employment charity that provides free styling and coaching services for interview and job success.
They offer personalised one to one Career Coaching to support you in identifying tangible next steps to secure a job interview.
If you have an upcoming job interview, they offer an Interview Styling and Coaching service. You will receive a complete, high-quality interview outfit and accessories (yours to keep) and personalised one to one interview coaching to help you succeed at your interview.
On successfully gaining employment, they'll welcome you back to build a capsule wardrobe ready to start your new job (yours to keep).
All their services are free of charge and can be delivered in-person at their Stockport Centre, or remotely through on-line coaching and clothing parcels directly sent to you.

Sonder Radio 50+ Sonder Radio is a community radio station for the 50+ demographic in Greater Manchester. Founded in 2016, their key aims have been to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and advocate digital inclusion. They achieve this by running various creative workshops and connecting people through the content made by the community at Sonder. They encourage people at all skill levels to take part in their workshops, as they are catered to help teach and guide every participant from the ground up. They pride themselves on not leaving anyone behind. There is always, in every person, the capacity to learn something new and at Sonder Radio they hope to provide that experience for everyone that gets involved.

The Growth Company Max Your Money The Growth Company are launching a new initiative to support GM residents with the cost of living crisis. These courses are a way to improve personal development, confidence and improve your CPD in the comfort of their own home or workplace. The courses take around 30 hours in total to complete and you will be awarded a nationally recognised certificate from TQUK, CACHE, or NCFE at the end of the course.
