I Am Me Scotland

Exploitation Awareness Resources (You Are Not Alone)

A suit of Exploitation Awareness Raising resources produced in collaboration with young people from Renfrewshire based projects and both young males and adult females from Polmont YOI and are based on real life experiences of exploitation including grooming, sexual exploitation, trafficking, county lines and gangs. In addition to working with the young people and adult females, we have worked with Police Scotland partners in PREVENT to develop a section of the resource to raise awareness of radicalisation, including extreme far right, Islamist extremism and other areas of extremism, such as Incel. The resources have been designed for use in non-mainstream settings, though will also be available to schools via the online education platform.

Breaking Free Online Training

Do you want to support someone through your work, a family member or friend to use the Breaking Free Online resources? Then come along to the BFO information session where you can build your confidence to support someone else to use the resource. It can be used for any substance not just alcohol and can be accessed at any time day or night. Breaking Free Online is a confidential, evidence-based digital treatment and recovery programme for people experiencing problems with alcohol and/or drugs. Accessible via the internet on any device, it makes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy available on demand to all service users, empowering them to address their substance use issues and achieve their personal wellness goals.

Lunchtime events on commercial sexual exploitation and motherhood, migrant women and women with learning disabilities

This April we are going to be holding a series of short lunchtime session launching our new policy briefings and findings on the work we did on commercial sexual exploitation and its impact on underconsidered groups of women. This includes:

• Women with learning disabilities – April 2
• Migrant women – April 9
• Motherhood – April 16

We are currently asking staff and women with lived experience to share with us their views on key things politicians should do to improve the lives of women involved in selling or exchanging sex. Our short survey includes 2 questions and is open to women with lived experience and anyone supporting women involved in selling or exchanging sex. You can also share with anyone interested in contributing.

Action Counters Terrorism (ACT)

Multi-Agency Awareness Raising Session

The UK Counter-Terrorism (CONTEST) Strategy was developed to address threats that Scotland and the rest of the UK face from a range of extremist and terrorist ideologies, groups and individuals.

Prevent, Pursue, Protect and Prepare are strands of this strategy.

ACT Awareness is a counter-terrorism awareness program designed for all UK-based organizations and individuals. It provides nationally accredited corporate guidance to help understand and mitigate against current terrorist methodology

Domestic Abuse (Coercive Control) and the Law

Thursday 18 September 2025 10am – 12 noon via MS Teams

This session is being facilitated by Marianne Osborne who has worked with Renfrewshire Women’s Aid since 2002, and who has a wealth of experience and knowledge around the area of Domestic Abuse both at a local and national level.

This training is open to all multiagency staff that work in Angus and Tayside, who have a working understanding of Domestic Abuse.

It is National Children’s Day UK on the 18th of May 2025, where we plan to hold event during the week beginning the 19th of May 2025. These events will recognise the importance of protecting children and young people rights, freedoms and wellbeing, to enable them to grow into happy, healthy adults.

The aim of National Children's Day UK is to get as many people as possible to create events and activities that 1) highlight the importance of healthy, happy childhoods 2) celebrate all the great work that is going on to support child and family wellbeing and 3) champion children's participation.

LGBTQIA+ Multi-agency Awareness Raising Session

Graded Care Profile (GCP2) Tool
Face to Face Training for Multi-Agency Staff

What is the Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2)?
The Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) is a tool designed to help practitioners take a strength-based approach to measure the quality of care a child is receiving, and support professionals to identify neglect, where this is an issue.
Neglect can have damaging effects on a child’s health, development, and education, and later in life can put them at risk of depression, substance abuse and even suicide attempts (Norman et al, 2012).

This training is open to all multi-agency staff working with children and families within the Angus area.

Young People Online: Sex, Relationships and Technology

Thursday 4^th September 2025 10am – 3pm, Angus House Forfar

NHS Tayside Sexual Health & BBV Team are offering the above training to multi-agency staff and volunteers working with young people in Angus.

This session will cover

• how young people use technology around sex and relationships and the possible impacts of this, including porn, intimate image sharing and sextortion
• what the local and national data tells us
• what  useful resources, activities and further reading are available and how these can be used to support young people in group and 1 to 1 situations

A course supporting professionals to understand and improve practice in Child Protection Planning Meetings (CPPMs).
