It is National Children’s Day UK on the 18th of May 2025, where we plan to hold event during the week beginning the 19th of May 2025. These events will recognise the importance of protecting children and young people rights, freedoms and wellbeing, to enable them to grow into happy, healthy adults. The aim of National Children's Day UK is to get as many people as possible to create events and activities that 1) highlight the importance of healthy, happy childhoods 2) celebrate all the great work that is going on to support child and family wellbeing and 3) champion children's participation. If you are planning any event, would like to host a relevant session or showcase any great work being undertaken in Angus, please contact Aileen (burnessa@angus.gov.uk) to discuss how PPA could support with this and help you reach a wider audience. Under One Rainbow was founded in 2022 following discussions about the extra difficulties that young LGBTQIA+ people and their families sometimes face and the lack of available highly confidential support. Young People Online: Sex, Relationships and Technology
Thursday 4th September 2025 10am – 3pm, Angus House Forfar
NHS Tayside Sexual Health & BBV Team are offering the above training to multi-agency staff and volunteers working with young people in Angus.
This session will cover
- how young people use technology around sex and relationships and the possible impacts of this, including porn, intimate image sharing and sextortion
- what the local and national data tells us
- what useful resources, activities and further reading are available and how these can be used to support young people in group and 1 to 1 situations

Scottish Children's Reporter Administration
SCRA Tayside have developed a number of training events over the course of 2025. All events are detailed in the Protecting People Dundee training portal on the following link - Booking Calendar. Alternatively they can be accessed clicking the links below.

A full days introduction to the Role of the Children's Reporter and Children's Hearings (face to face).

This training is provided to any professional who may find themselves referring a child or young person to the Reporter or attend Children's Hearings.
Learning Outcomes include:
Providing a basic understanding of the role of the Reporter and the Children’s Hearing System;
Equip professionals to feel confident in fulfilling their role when interacting with the referral process and the hearing system;
Provide a safe environment to learn about the hearing system;
Provide a simulation of a Children’s Hearing, through a mock Hearing experience

Child Protection Planning Meetings
A course supporting professionals to understand and improve practice in Child Protection Planning Meetings (CPPMs).
