Manchester Airport Group is looking to recruit more than 500 staff at Manchester Airport in passenger security roles alone, with other vacancies in areas including customer service, car parks and hospitality.

Young people who complete their two-week pre-recruitment training programme will get a guaranteed interview for any of Groundwork GMs & their partners kickstart roles. They will also receive a reference from Groundwork GM that they can use to apply for the vacancies. The two-week course includes:
- Level 1 Health & Safety in the construction workplace qualification
- Carbon Literacy qualification
- Industry insight sessions
- Understand employer expectations and develop awareness of how to succeed in your new job
- Get ready for work and prepare for a job interview and CVs

Reform Radio
DJ Sessions
Monday 14 February to Friday 18 February

This one-week volunteers programme is being headed up by DJ, Producer & Founder of musical imprint Do As You Please, Joe Roche. Joe is an experienced DJ having played on BBC Radio One, Victoria Warehouse, Gorilla, Singapore Grand Prix and Antwerp Mansion in Ibiza.
Throughout the week, Joe will be upskilling volunteers on audio production, giving them the ins and outs of the DJ/Producer life and preparing them for a networking event where volunteers will showcase their new skills to promoters, bookers and venues from across Manchester. After completing the one week training, volunteers will spend one evening a week for five weeks shadowing DJ’s at Reform Radio to learn more about promoting themselves professionally.

Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP)
Fully funded green employment opportunities
One Manchester can offer funding to Manchester based employer hosts, to create and test new Green Employment roles. The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP) project will create a total of 125 supported green jobs in areas such as sustainability, retrofit, construction, environmental management, recycling & reuse, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. This programme can also support a wider range of roles that can demonstrate a link to the environment and carbon reduction.
Supported green jobs will be of 3 to 6 months in duration and funded by One Manchester as part-time flexible job placements (15 hours per week) paid at Real Living Wage. Recruitment will be targeted to individuals who are unemployed, and who face barriers to employment.
Individuals recruited to the roles will benefit from additional support from a Green Employment Coach providing, employment support, coaching, and referral into aligned training offers.

Leading in uncertainty – Peer support for charity and social enterprise leaders
IVAR are running 90 minute drop-in peer support sessions for up to 10 charity leaders at a time, every week, from June, via zoom. Attendees will have a safe space to share challenges, time to pause and reflect, and the opportunity to hear each other’s experiences of adapting to and coping with leading in prolonged uncertainty. The sessions are for leaders of charities, community organisations and social enterprises, based in the UK. The sessions take place weekly, starting in June 2021, until April 2022.

Rising Stars Fund
Manchester's Rising Stars Fund supports ambitious, talented 16 to 24 year olds to achieve their potential - by funding vital equipment, training and resources to enable them take their next steps to success in Work, Qualifications or Entrepreneurship, via grants of up to £2,000.
Eligability:
- Aged 16 – 24 (or up to 30 with lived experience of homelessness)
- Applicants need to Live in the City of Manchester
- Applicants need to have a clear and realistic ambition or goal around employment, education, training or entrepreneurship.
- Applicants need to demonstrate inability to access funds themselves due to personal or family circumstances

Digital Careers Upskill Programme
Free training opportunity for employed people in Greater Manchester!
If you work in Greater Manchester’s digital, creative and tech industry, or would like to, you could benefit from new, fully-funded training through Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Skills for Growth programme.
The Digital Careers Upskill Programme will support both people currently working in the digital field to upskill their existing knowledge base in order to progress, as well as re-skilling individuals working across different sectors who would like to get into a digital-focused career.
All partners supporting Serco have individual specialisms and will support learners to gain technical skills in a number of fields including cyber security, 3D printing, UX, web development, cloud engineering and more.

Sonder Radio 50+
Sonder Radio is a community radio station for the 50+ demographic in Greater Manchester. Founded in 2016, their key aims have been to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and advocate digital inclusion. They achieve this by running various creative workshops and connecting people through the content made by the community at Sonder. They encourage people at all skill levels to take part in their workshops, as they are catered to help teach and guide every participant from the ground up. They pride themselves on not leaving anyone behind. There is always, in every person, the capacity to learn something new and at Sonder Radio they hope to provide that experience for everyone that gets involved.
They are on the lookout for people who are 50+ who would like to join a community of like minded individuals to socialise and develop their digital, and creative skills.

For My Future Ex-Offender Course
Step Together Volunteering supports participants to build and develop the personal and practical skills needed to move forward. As well as offering progression routes into volunteering, training, and employment. Step Together Volunteering aim to help overcome the barriers ex-offenders face in finding work and this tailored course comprises 20 hours of guided learning, 1:1 mentoring and home learning, CV and interview techniques and a plan to get you into volunteering within your community.
Transform Programme
Are you based in the Greater Manchester area and currently unemployed, at risk of redundancy or considering returning to work after a break?
Transform is a government-funded programme, focused on supporting individuals to
find rewarding careers in the Further Education (FE) sector. For those who do not see
teaching, or working in another role in FE, as the right choice for them, they will be
supported to look at other options, which could include alternative employment or
further study/training.

Volunteer to become a Reading Coach - helping adults with reading
Read Easy UK is a registered charity that works through affiliated local groups to provide one-to-one reading coaching to adults, using trained volunteers. As a volunteer Reading Coach you will receive training, to introduce you to some of the issues faced by adults with reading problems and how to use the Reading manuals. You and your matched reader will then choose an approved venue to meet.

Volunteer to support the COVID-19 Booster campaign
The government is calling on everyone to support the booster programme to avoid the NHS being overloaded and to keep the economy open.
To support the increase in demand for COVID-19 vaccinations and booster jabs, Manchester is in need of more volunteers. With the emerging news of the new strain of Covid-19 (Omicron) Macc and Volunteer Centre Manchester are supporting Manchester Health and Care Commissioning (MHCC) with its recruitment to support Manchester's vaccination programme at community-based sites across the city.
There are various roles that you can get involved with to support the programme including being a Volunteer Marshal, NHS Volunteer Stewards or Volunteer Vaccinators.
