Please share widely across practitioners and managers who may come into contact with adults or children at risk; and those involved in policy and practice development or oversight for ASP and/or CP. Earlier this year, the report 'Understanding age in Child Protection guidance and Adult Support and Protection Legislation' was published by Iriss, accessible here. This report explores working with 16 and 17 year olds who might be eligible for support through Adult Support and Protection (ASP) legislation and Child Protection (CP) guidance; and discusses the tensions and challenges around supporting this age group. A Guidance and Legislation table is provided as a practical tool for social workers of all levels, and other professionals working with 16 and 17 year olds, to view the policy and guidance options available to them. We want to understand how professionals are using this report in their work; if or how it has supported decision making; or if it has increased understanding of supporting 16 and 17 year olds via ASP or CP measures. You can share your thoughts with us via our online survey: https://form.jotform.com/242762492182056 You can also share your thoughts with us at an online drop in session on: Friday 8 November 2024 10am – 11am or Thursday 21 November 2024 11am – 12 noon. You can sign up to receive the meeting link here: https://forms.office.com/e/TfyphgsFGx Discussion will be facilitated to allow you to share your experiences in using the resource; how it has been helpful; how it might be improved; and any other thoughts you have about this resource. Your feedback - via the survey and/or within a session – will be used to inform any future work warranted to either the resource(s) or guidance in this area of practice. |
