Family Benefits Advice Service Tax Free Childcare Did you know that nationally, take up of Tax Free Childcare is very low with only around 25% of all of the families who are entitled actually applying for it? It’s the same here in Manchester where lots of working families who meet the criteria are missing out. Family Benefits Advice Service want to make sure that all eligible families in Manchester are accessing Tax Free Childcare and any other financial support available to them from the Government.

Reform Radio The Drop Tuesday fortnightly 6:30pm to 8pm until 5 July This course will see you explore all mediums of audio production. You will create your own content for a radio show, learn how to creatively write for podcasts, learn how to mix and make your own beats all whilst learning employability skills along the way. At the end of the course you will have a volume of content that you can be proud of and share with others. Catch 22
The Creativity Project Induction Date: 13 July The programme runs for 3 days a week, for 4 weeks, and is done completely remotely using Microsoft Teams. After completing the programme, you will have access to 1-2-1 career coaching and in work support once they find employment. Over the 4 week programme you will get vital employability skills training, insight into the creative sector whilst doing practical activities and gain confidence in applying for creative apprenticeships or creative roles, with the view of launching your career.

The programme covers the different type of creative roles available in the industry, how to create creative CV to these specific positions, showreel training, how to build a personal brand and we even do group projects. Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund The Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund is unique. It supports ambitious, talented 15 to 24 year olds to achieve their potential by funding vital equipment, training and resources to enable them take their next steps to success in Work, Qualifications or Entrepreneurship, via grants of up to £5,000.
Basic Criteria:

Digital Advantage DISC (Digital Inc. Specialist College) They have both full and part-time opportunities for 6 to 12 months agency work experience in their Manchester city centre workspace. DISC will be opening its doors to support young people with a flair for digital and creative technology to prepare for adulthood and employment. Over the course of their time, the groups will develop their digital and creative work-based skills, improve their confidence and employability prospects and be supported into an apprenticeship, employment, self-employment or other positive destinations.
The Growth Company
Traineeships Their Traineeships are designed to prepare you for progression on to an apprenticeship or employment. You will develop the valuable skills that employers are looking for. Summer Programme This summer programme offers a fun & friendly introduction to young people transitioning form school to further education. The programme is brilliant for anyone aged 16 to 18, who is looking to work on confidence, self-esteem; gain work experience; have fun and develop themselves to help build their job prospects.

- Support throughout the programme to help decided on their next steps
- If students are on Universal credit - they can still claim
- If parents or carers claim child tax credits, they will continue to do so as we are an approved training centre
- These students could be entitled to a £7.50 per day
- Children in care or care leavers 18 and under will be able to claim a bursary
- Refer a friend bonus of £20 for each student, on completion of 6 weeks on programme
- £10 bonus for 100% attendance on the programme

Start Up Vision is a brand-new initiative, aimed at pre-start or early-stage businesses (less than 1 year old) based in Greater Manchester.
Programme participants will get fully funded access to practical, hands-on advice and support from an experienced business adviser. Together, you will develop a personalised action plan for your new business to enable you to take the next steps to success.
Where relevant, you could also gain access to funded training courses and workshops or practical ‘done for you’ support services.
Whether you want to learn more about business registration; cashflow management and bookkeeping; brand identity and marketing strategy; developing ecommerce capability; improving your social media skills; building a website; getting started with e-marketing; or something else, they want to help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to put your ideas into action.
Catch-22 LifeSkills Catch-22 is an employability support service offering advice and guidance to unemployed people throughout the Greater Manchester area including people who may have barriers to get into work. Working with individuals 16 years and above, they support a vast range of individuals in this community-based programme. Creating a bespoke career plan and access to apply for training funds means career options are endless on this programme.
Their trained Lifeskills advisors will support you to develop skills and experiences to prepare you for work through:
• One to one mentoring with a personal advisor
• Job search and application support
• CV writing and interview preparation, including mock interviews
• Support with funding for interview clothes, bus travel to interviews, PPE, DBS checks and subject to approval, we offer funding for courses to allow you to upskill and expand your knowledge

Government - Skills Toolkit Free courses are available through an online platform launched by the government last year. The Skills Toolkit gives you access to free, high-quality digital and numeracy courses to help build up your skills, progress in work and boost your job prospects.
Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP) Fully funded green employment opportunities One Manchester can offer funding to Manchester based employer hosts, to create and test new Green Employment roles. The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The Green Employment and Skills Partnership (GESP) project will create a total of 125 supported green jobs in areas such as sustainability, retrofit, construction, environmental management, recycling & reuse, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. This programme can also support a wider range of roles that can demonstrate a link to the environment and carbon reduction.
Supported green jobs will be of 3 to 6 months in duration and funded by One Manchester as part-time flexible job placements (15 hours per week) paid at Real Living Wage. Recruitment will be targeted to individuals who are unemployed, and who face barriers to employment.
Individuals recruited to the roles will benefit from additional support from a Green Employment Coach providing, employment support, coaching, and referral into aligned training offers.

Leading in uncertainty – Peer support for charity and social enterprise leaders IVAR are running 90 minute drop-in peer support sessions for up to 10 charity leaders at a time, every week, from June, via zoom. Attendees will have a safe space to share challenges, time to pause and reflect, and the opportunity to hear each other’s experiences of adapting to and coping with leading in prolonged uncertainty. CareerSense Exploration Workshop The CareerSense Exploration Workshop is a free learning resource focused on employability skills and building students’ career confidence, designed for students in Year 9/S3 and upwards.
CareerSense Dream Bigger The CareerSense Dream Bigger workshop has been designed to get students to ‘Dream Bigger’ by developing their skills and resilience, helping them to level up their transferable skills for the future world of work, designed for young people aged 16-18.
Find Your Potential In addition to the Exploration Workshop and CareerSense Dream Bigger Workshop, NatWest CareerSense also offers a tool called ‘Find Your Potential’. This online tool will help you better understand your skills and motivations through a series of easy questions. On completion of the tool, you’ll get a report that includes some example job types in their sector too. Rising Stars Fund Manchester's Rising Stars Fund supports ambitious, talented 16 to 24 year olds to achieve their potential - by funding vital equipment, training and resources to enable them take their next steps to success in Work, Qualifications or Entrepreneurship, via grants of up to £2,000. Eligability:
- Aged 16 – 24 (or up to 30 with lived experience of homelessness)
- Applicants need to Live in the City of Manchester
- Applicants need to have a clear and realistic ambition or goal around employment, education, training or entrepreneurship.
- Applicants need to demonstrate inability to access funds themselves due to personal or family circumstances

Scope Individual Pathway of Support Scope provide employment advice to disabled people wherever they are on their journey into work, you could be looking for volunteering to gain that first step or be looking for a new paid opportunity . Each person who joins the service will have support from an Employment adviser for up to 13 weeks to support them to reach their employment goal which could be by;
- identifying their strengths and transferable skills
- developing confidence and job skills like time management
- reviewing their CV to meet your employment goals
- how and where to look for jobs
- mock interviews
- how to talk to your employer about their impairment and reasonable adjustments
You will have access to their selection of training modules and their online job board, which has exclusive vacancies from partner organisations, recruiters, and employers who are committed to employing more disabled people. The Service is free and open to people who are:
- disabled or have an impairment or condition
- living in Greater Manchester
- aged 16 and over

Serco and Skills for Growth Digital Careers Upskill Programme Free training opportunity for employed people in Greater Manchester! If you work in Greater Manchester’s digital, creative and tech industry, or would like to, you could benefit from new, fully-funded training through Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Skills for Growth programme.

Sonder Radio 50+ Sonder Radio is a community radio station for the 50+ demographic in Greater Manchester. Founded in 2016, their key aims have been to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and advocate digital inclusion. They achieve this by running various creative workshops and connecting people through the content made by the community at Sonder. They encourage people at all skill levels to take part in their workshops, as they are catered to help teach and guide every participant from the ground up. They pride themselves on not leaving anyone behind. There is always, in every person, the capacity to learn something new and at Sonder Radio they hope to provide that experience for everyone that gets involved.

Transform Programme Are you based in the Greater Manchester area and currently unemployed, at risk of redundancy or considering returning to work after a break? Transform is a government-funded programme, focused on supporting individuals to find rewarding careers in the Further Education (FE) sector. For those who do not see teaching, or working in another role in FE, as the right choice for them, they will be supported to look at other options, which could include alternative employment or further study/training.
