The funeral of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh is being held on Saturday 17 April. The current plan for census activities on this date is:
- no census field activity will take place
- all campaign and social media activity will pause
- no public facing engagement activity will take place
- the Census 2021 Contact Centre will remain open to support respondents if they choose to contact us, and telephone capture can still take place
- Census Support Centres will remain open to support respondents who require face to face assistance
The official period of mourning ends at 8am on Sunday 18 April.
Field officers will not work this weekend and will resume their activities on Monday.
A new animated video is now available on the census campaign website. It is aimed at letting respondents know how we keep their data secure.
If you’d like to take a look, you can find the video on the “What we do with your information” page.

Tranche 3 messages for social media are available via the downloadable resources page of the website. The folder contains "There's still time to take part" messages. These are available in English, Welsh and a variety of other languages. |
The final set of response maps will be available through your CEM by the end of next week. This final point (21 April) reflects the conditions towards the end of the field operation and the final push to get all outstanding households to respond.
For more detailed guidance on these response maps, please see our article from the last newsletter, Issue 23.
Here is a link to our 'Messages for LAs to emphasise in communications to the public'. This is a useful article to share with communication teams, customer services and to add to the census information on your website.
