We are working to open Census Support Centres as soon as possible but need to ensure it is safe and in line with government guidelines to do so. It is likely that the timing of opening will vary between different centres depending on the nature of their regular business and premises. Information on the location of CSCs and their opening hours are available at https://census.gov.uk/help/find-a-census-support-centre.
We will, of course, update you as soon as we have more news.
The social media content calendar provides an overview of messaging at different stages of the campaign. It is available via CEMs on request.
Some of the images on the calendar are available to download from our website at https://census.gov.uk/downloadable-resources
Not all of the images are available for download yet. They should be available on the website soon, but in the meantime, if you would like to use any of the 3 remaining images, please contact your CEM who will be able to send them to you.
The primary and secondary education programmes are now in full swing with over 8000 schools taking part in the primary school programme, which is over 1.9 million children, and over 1500 secondary schools signed up too. It’s not too late to register either, so visit www.census.gov.uk/education for more information.
We’d like all schools to have the chance to win some fantastic prizes so don’t forget to remind your schools to enter the relevant competition. Closing date for primary schools is 23 April 2021 and for secondary schools it’s 26 March 2021. We can’t wait to see the entries from schools in your area.
The contact centre is a vital source of public support. It offers help over the phone, via webchat and SMS text message, and through the ‘Contact Us’ form on our website.

Local authorities are continuing to promote Census 2021 through their social media channels. This week's figures show that 322 local authorities have now mentioned census on social media (an increase from 291 last week), reaching an audience of approximately 17 million users.
Congratulations to the following LAs for their outstanding social media activity:
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Birmingham City Council, Enfield London Borough Council, Slough Borough Council and Caerphilly County Borough Council.
These are the social media channels we are using:
You can find a pack of social media posts and images to use on our downloadable resources page. These resources can be adapted to suit your local areas. Please note, rural images are available on request.
If your local authority has a Trading Standards department please pass on the letter that was sent last week. National Trading Standards have informed us that they will forward it to all Trading Standards teams but it may not have reached them just yet.
Our letter provides details about the census field officers, including ID badges and working hours. It was also sent to all police forces.
If you missed this letter, please get in touch with us at 2021Census.LA.Liaison@ons.gov.uk
ONS is undertaking a review of how inclusive data and evidence are across the UK. This is in keeping with our new strategy, Statistics for the Public Good, and will help to support the work of the Inclusive Data Taskforce.
We need your help in understanding what you need, where the gaps are and where further work is needed. The consultation ends on 26 March and the link is below:
