1. Warning over diarrhoea illness linked to West Sussex farm visits
Public Health England have released guidance following an outbreak of a stomach infection linked to a West Sussex farm. For further information on the infection, please read the attached factsheet.

2. Summer term Free Entitlement actuals and 30hr codes –
advance notice
The Online Provider
Portal (OPP) will be open for Summer term Free Entitlement (FE) actuals claims
from Wednesday 25 April 2018.
It is important to
read the “Free Entitlement – additional information for providers” on www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsfreeentitlement and follow the updated guidance
entitled “How to claim child-level funding” available here before submitting any information.
The updated guidance now includes how to claim Disability Access Fund (DAF) and
Extended FE for eligible 3 and 4 year olds.
Remember, you can
carry out an instant 30 hour code check using the ‘Online eligibility checker’
via the OPP, however this will not save or submit your data to us. See our OPP
help guide for further guidance: www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal

3. Early Years Transition Events
Bookings
for this year’s events are now available for settings to book onto by calling
the Family Information Service on 01243 777807 and quoting course code NES02N.
Details of
the events can be found on our website,
including details of which schools will be attending each event. We have some schools that have not yet
confirmed their attendance, and will be continuing to update the list regularly.
In order to
book your place, you will need to tell us the number of children and the name
of the schools you wish to meet with.
Please note: For those settings looking to
attend the session on Thursday 26 April 4.30-6pm at
Glebe Primary School, please ensure that you book your place by 5pm on 20
April.
4. Paediatric and Adult First Aid Training
This training is being offered to Early Years Settings at a
significantly reduced price for those that have joined our 2018–19 Early Years
and Childcare Training Subscription Scheme.
Exclusively available at the reduced rate of £50 per
place for Early Years and Childcare Training Subscription members. The usual cost for this course is £200 per place
which provides a saving of 75% for Settings that have joined this year’s
Training Subscription Scheme.
This 2 day course will provide you with the knowledge and practical
skills required to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children
and adults in the workplace, in line with Health and Safety (First Aid)
legislation and Ofsted regulations. We have limited spaces available for our
May course, so please book without delay to secure your place.

Time: 9:15am – 5:00pm
Venue: County Hall North, Horsham
Training Subscription members can book and pay for your place
