1. 30 hours Extended Entitlement: process for claiming

September 2017 is fast approaching and some settings have already been handed eligibility codes from parents looking for Extended (Free Entitlement) FE places.

Attached to this broadcast, as promised, is a Provider Flowchart to guide you with what to do during this interim implementation phase of the 30 hours extended FE funding.

Also attached for your information and to help with your conversations with parents is the new Parent Declaration form, which has space to collect all the new pieces of information you need from parents.

2. Last chance for FREE 30 hours courses

To support your setting in preparing for the 30 hours extended entitlement, West Sussex County Council commissioned several FREE courses to run over the spring and summer terms. Don’t miss out on your chance to attend as following this term they will no longer be free.

3. Focus on: Delivering Differently

Lots of providers are asking at the moment, ‘What are the changing needs of families in my community?’ and ‘Which models of delivery can support my sustainability?’

If these are questions that you’d like to explore then you should attend ‘Delivering Differently’.

This training course looks at the practical considerations and implications of implementing Free Entitlement in your setting. The below session is the last time this course will be FREE. No training subscription is required.

4. FAB Summer Conference 2017

Book a place on the FAB Schools Early Years Network Summer Conference “Supporting Critical Movement Experiences That Children Need Through Provision and Practice” with Jan White.  It will take place on Wednesday 7 June 2017 at the Bognor Regis Campus of the University Of Chichester.

5. Practitioner email addresses required for course bookings

Have you updated your staff record to include your email address?

This information is required to enable us to send out course confirmation letters via email as we will stop sending these, via the post, in the near future.

Please login to the Online Provider Portal and check your staff records to see if we have an email address for each practitioner in your setting.

Follow the help guide for ‘Staff changes’  to check your details are correct and up to date. Remember to click the ‘submit’ button so that any changes made are submitted to us.
