Volunteers are matched with a person living with dementia in Manchester, visiting their homes weekly or fortnightly to do activities and even take them out to the local café or park. It is much more personal than their groups-based volunteering and members form great relationships with the volunteer and vice-versa. They have an ever-growing waiting list of members desperate for new friendships and fun.
You don’t need to have had experience as you will have a training session with them to learn all about dementia and the health and safety of working with somebody with dementia on a 1 to 1 basis.

It's Never Too Late To Start Volunteering
Volunteering is when someone spends time doing something to benefit others. Anyone can volunteer; you can do as much or as little as you like, to fit around your life. It may be a regular activity, a one-off, or anything in between. Volunteering is for people of all ages, abilities, experiences and backgrounds. You don’t need any skills or qualifications to begin volunteering. Your past experiences may be extremely useful when volunteering
