Volunteer for the Together @ Home programme
At Together Dementia Support they really need volunteers for their Together @ Home programme. Volunteers are matched with a person living with dementia in Manchester, visiting their homes weekly or fortnightly to do activities and even take them out to the local café or park. It is much more personal than their groups-based volunteering and members form great relationships with the volunteer and vice-versa. They have an ever-growing waiting list of members desperate for new friendships and fun.
You donât need to have had experience as you will have a training session with them to learn all about dementia and the health and safety of working with somebody with dementia on a 1 to 1 basis.
