Cariocca Enterprises
The imPACT Programme
Cariocca Enterprises is a Manchester based social enterprise that provides workspace and supports entrepreneurialism in Manchester’s inner-city communities. They are launching The imPACT Programme, an employment training and internship initiative for young people aged 17 to 29. It will give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to learn key employment skills and gain valuable work experience especially in the sports, engineering, technology, finance, and health sectors.

Catch22
Shell Programme
Energise Fully online and is from 10am to 2:00pm daily with breaks
This is a four week programme to support people facing barriers into jobs and apprenticeships in the energy sector. Learners will know more about energy transition and the terminology around the Green Industry. The course is packed with employability skills such as CV writing, communication skills, presentation skills and customer service skills. There will be a chance to hear from industry professionals and access funding to gain a qualification within the energy transition. Individuals need to be working towards a level 1 ESOL or above if English is not first language. This course is delivered online participants will need to have a laptop and access to the internet, arrangements can be made if this is a barrier.

The Digital Edge Programme
2 days a week for 4 weeks and is done completely remotely using Microsoft Teams.
The programme is funded by Microsoft and aims to help people between 18 and 45 into the Tech industry. After completing the programme you will then have access to 1 2 1 career coaching and in work support once they find employment.
Over the 4 week programme you will get vital employability skills training, insight into the digital and technology sector whilst doing practical activities and gain confidence in applying for digital apprenticeships or entry level IT roles, with the view of launching their career.
You should be:
- Interested in a digital and tech industry
- 18 to 45 years old
- Access to laptop/computer and headphones
- Based in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London
- Not in Education or Employment
- Have the right to work within the UK
- Have a basic level of IT Skills
The programme covers the different type of tech roles available in the industry, the different tech jargon terms, how to tailor a cover letter and CV to these specific positions and they even do group projects. Alongside their facilitators they do have guest speakers from Tech Apprenticeships providers, and Microsoft staff also speak to the group about the tech industry.

- IPS uses a personalised and strength-based approach to support people to find a job of their choosing.
- IPS aims to help people find paid jobs within just weeks of being referred to the service.
- Then it continues to work with both employer and employee to sustain the job placement for as long as possible, or to help the client into a different job.
- IPS directly tackles the lack of integration of healthcare and employment services and the disconnection of different specialists by integrating employment specialists into health teams.

Resources for Teachers NatWest CareerSense is offers two workshops that will help your students explore different career pathways, and help them build upon their transferable skills.
CareerSense Exploration Workshop The CareerSense Exploration Workshop is a free learning resource focused on employability skills and building students’ career confidence, designed for students in Year 9/S3 and upwards.
CareerSense Dream Bigger The CareerSense Dream Bigger workshop has been designed to get students to ‘Dream Bigger’ by developing their skills and resilience, helping them to level up their transferable skills for the future world of work, designed for young people aged 16-18.
Find Your Potential In addition to the Exploration Workshop and CareerSense Dream Bigger Workshop, NatWest CareerSense also offers a tool called ‘Find Your Potential’. This online tool will help you better understand your skills and motivations through a series of easy questions. On completion of the tool, you’ll get a report that includes some example job types in their sector too. The Find Your Potential tool can be found on the homepage of mycareersense.com where you’ll also find other learning resources.

Enterprise programme
Course dates: Monthly
This programme helps you turn a business idea into reality, using our Test and Start-up Grants and receive one-to-one support with business planning. This 2 week course is delivered online and individuals can take part in workshops, independent learning activities and 1:1 support. In this programme individuals will discover what it takes to grow and build a successful business, get to grips with marketing, selling, finance and business planning skills, get support to test your business idea and the opportunity to apply for a business mentor and financial support on completion.

Development Awards
The Prince’s Trust can provide young people with a Development Award. The amount of each Award depends on your unique needs, future career goals and personal development plans. Awards are available from £10 right up to a maximum of £500.
To be eligible for an Award, you must be aged 16 to 30 and living in the UK, studying less than 14 hours a week or not in compulsory education. Must be unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week.

Pure Innovations is a charity providing support services to enable people with a disability, learning difficulty, autism or mental health condition to lead fulfilled lives. They currently offer the following two programmes:
Our Future
The Our Future programme is designed to help people with learning disabilities and/or autism develop important life skills. It is a 10 week group workshop with a maximum of 6 per group covering:
- Self-development
- Community
- Mental and physical wellbeing
- Digital skills
- Healthy relationships and sexual health
- Money and budgeting
- Pre-employment with a focus on voluntary work/work experience or moving onto supported employment
- Safe travel and route planning
- CV building and interview techniques
The course is very person centred for each individual, which helps them to reach a goal of their choice. They have guest speakers from the NHS, Citizens Advice, local workshops, volunteering groups and more depending on the groups interests. They also visit employers and have tours around different industries who offer both voluntary and paid work and they often do group voluntary days or activities.
If anyone is not comfortable in a group setting, they do offer this on a 1-1, focusing on an area of your choice.
Our Manchester
The Our Manchester programme is designed to help and support people with learning disabilities and/or autism into paid employment including:
- A dedicated employment officer
- A vocational profile created with an Action Plan to meet goals
- CV creation and interview preparation and support
- Job identification and application support
- Negotiation with employer’s and job shaping
- Travel training
- Job coaching
- Ongoing in and out of work reviews, monitoring and support
They help with finding work, speaking to the employer, making reasonable adjustments and support through the entire process. This is person centred so help is given as much or as little as needed, this can be alongside them during the interview and working interviews as well as working alongside the client while learning the job role. Once the client is comfortable in the role, they fade out gradually into the background until they are supporting remotely when needed.
Eligibility:
- Have a Learning Disability and/or Autism
- Live in the Manchester City Council Area
- Age 17 year and 6 months plus

Reform Radio
FutureYou Mentoring
This is all about helping unemployed, young people aged 18 to 24 progress. It’s designed to give the support needed to achieve goals, whether that be progressing into education, employment or training. Young people will be quickly assigned a mentor who will be primary contact during the FutureYou programme. The mentor will dedicate time to them to understand current circumstances, goals and any concerns young people may have. Young people will have weekly contact and monthly reviews with their mentor to ensure they have the support needed to keep progressing.
Together with their mentor, young people will create a personalised plan of action to help move into the education, training or employment that’s right for them. Every step counts, with constant opportunities to review and track progress and achievements; and make any changes that are needed along the way.

Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund
We Love MCR's Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund is unique. It supports ambitious 15 to 22 year olds experiencing financial disadvantage to achieve their potential by funding vital equipment, training and resources to enable them take their next steps to success in Work, Qualifications or Entrepreneurship, via grants of up to £5,000.
Basic Criteria for applicants:

Need to live in Manchester City Council boundaries (exemptions apply for Manchester's LAC)

Must have a clear and realistic ambition around employment, education, training or entrepreneurship.

Working Well: Support to Succeed
Working Well: Support to Succeed helps you to overcome barriers which may prevent you from gaining work or pursuing your ambitions. The programme will help to boost your confidence and support you in achieving your goals.
Support to Succeed offers:
- Tailored one-to-one support with a dedicated Key Worker
- A range of available services including individual counselling, physiotherapy, debt advice
- Participation in activities to reduce social isolation such as gardening, sports and group sessions
- Support to progress into further learning, work experience, apprenticeships or employment (where this is right for the individual)
- A dedicated offer and Key Worker for people aged 50+
Benefits of the programme:

Trustee Role pack
Young Identity is always looking for new trustees to join their diverse board, currently made up of an economist, lawyer, psychologist, education specialist, counsellor, young people’s arts producer, community engagement manager and creative business development expert. Their board brings a wealth of knowledge, both specialist and general, as well as invaluable perspectives and lived experience ranging from the local, national and international.

As the name suggests, a Steering Group helps to steer a project from start to completion. If you are interested in becoming a member of their Steering Group you must already be a Young Identity member, aged between 13 to 25. Young Producers

Their young producers have the opportunity to support curating, planning and managing Young Identity's events and community showcase performances over the next 3 years. They offer training opportunities through workshops led by Young Identity's producers' team, alumni producers and creative industry professionals, where you will gain tips and advice from lived experience producers; including learning how to organise and programme events and develop financial skills and budget management. Their Young Producers help them produce their flagship event One Mic Stand and volunteer as staff liaisons, runners, programmers and more.
If you are interested in becoming a Young Producer you must already be a Young Identity member, aged between 13 to 25. Please read the outline attached and fill out the ‘Register Interest’ form. Training Opportunity for Facilitator Role
Experienced, empathetic and confident in their craft, their Young Identity members can access facilitator training, opening themselves up to opportunities for connection and engagement with other budding young writers in the community. At Young Identity they offer training opportunities through their weekly workshop delivery; shadowing lead facilitators, supporting lessons, mentoring and evaluations, with access to personalised support from their Artistic Director Shirley May.
