Reform Radio Work Club - Work Club runs on the last Thursday of every month with a full session based on opportunities for the future. It includes a number of speakers who discuss various opportunities available, as well as 1-1s and pastoral sessions, are also available. Their pastoral team also runs a clinic every Wednesday to support young people in their next steps to getting their job. This includes CVs, applications, interviews, etc, and will help you whilst you’re looking for a new role. If you want to get involved, please send an email to projects@reformradio.co.uk.
Web-being - Web-being sessions run weekly, hosted by Dan, their wellbeing manager. The aims of the sessions are to provide you with the skills needed to maintain and improve your wellbeing, especially while being online. The topics vary week-by-week. The sessions are highly interactive but there is no pressure to share or speak if you prefer not to. The sessions are 1 to 3pm every Tuesday.
Facilitation Training - This is a two-part workshop with part one on the 5 February and part two on the 12 February. This is a training program for people who want to learn more about facilitation, project planning, funding, evaluation, working with partners, and developing creative social action projects. If you would like to get into project leading or youth work this workshop is a great place to start.
BuddyLine - BuddyLine is a series of intergenerational telephone conversations between people from the Sonder Radio Community, (our sister station that uses radio to overcome isolation and loneliness in the over 60s) and the Reform Radio Community of young adults under 30. Taking advantage of the technology available to us, the conversations will be recorded from each of their homes during isolation. Through these honest conversations, our listeners enter into an intimate and genuine meeting between two people who would not otherwise interact in everyday society. We will match people, who will share their stories enlightening both the listeners and each other. They will demonstrate that isolation does not have to be isolating and that they can create long-lasting friendships. Participants will be committed to a week-long training learning different transferable communication skills such as storytelling, active listening, and radio presenting. As well as the technology side of radio with the responsibility of recording, producing, and editing these calls into radio shows that will get played weekly on sonderradio.com. This project starts on 23 February.

Shift Click Shift Click is a brand new, completely free coding bootcamp, aimed at Greater Manchester residents aged 18-30 who are either under-employed or unemployed.
No experience is required, all you need to bring is a willingness to dive in and engage - in return, you’ll come out of the programme with real, current, employable skills, setting you up to succeed in a busy industry in need of skilled people.
The course is delivered online and remotely, and is supported fully by a group of Manchester’s best digital educators and mentors. It also doesn’t affect things like Universal Credit, so you can engage with the course while being supported.

The Edge Theatre New courses for unemployed people They will be opening again in January and are launching three new 10 week courses for people who are unemployed. The courses are 2 hours a week. There are 10 free places on each course: 2 x Acting for Fun and Confidence 1 x Creative Writing. The courses will be helpful for people’s confidence and self-esteem, mental health and wellbeing, communication skills, focus and concentration and of course creativity.

Good News – Pupils now have 12 weeks to accept their TMC course offer Good news for all Year 11’s making an application to The Manchester College, they can now confirm pupils have up to 12 weeks to accept their college application offer. This was originally 3 weeks but they have increased this period following feedback from schools and pupils which they really hope will help everyone going forward now.
After pupils receive their offer they will be sent reminder emails at 4 and 8 weeks to accept their place at the College, if the offer has still not been accepted after 12 weeks it will automatically be made inactive. After the 12 week period if a pupil is still interested in going to the College and wants to re-activate their application, all they have to do is contact their Admissions Team on the details below and they will reinstate the offer.
