Protecting People Awareness Raising Learning Session

DEMENTIA EDUCATION WORKSHOPWednesday 23 October 2024Protecting People Angus and the Dementia Services Development Centre, University of Stirling are excited to announce an upcoming FREE Dementia Education Workshop aimed at family, carers, volunteers, and professionals in Angus. This full-day event will take place on 23 October 2024 at the Angus Carers Centre, Arbroath. This workshop aims to provide valuable knowledge, skills, and solutions to support those caring for individuals living with dementia. It will also highlight the various support services available within the local community. |
The day will consist of presentations from speakers of various organisations within Angus and will also include a dedicated space for manned information stands. Details are still being confirmed but, If you work or volunteer within an organisation in Angus and are interested in either having a stand at the event, or want to provide information leaflets to be displayed at the event please email: ProtectingPeopleAngus@Angus.gov.uk Please check the next PPA Newsletter which will include full details of the event along with how to book. |

Angus ADP Online Everyone Has A Story: Children Affected by Parental Substance Use

The 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence campaign starts on 25 November 2024, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and concludes on 10 December 2024, which is International Human Rights Day. A special PPA newsletter will be published to promote the sessions available during this period. The national theme for this years’ 16 days of action is ‘Imagine a World Without Violence Against Women and Girls’. A programme of events will be organised by local gender based violence services, which will include learning session, discussions and film screenings. To close the 16 days we will again be holding a candlelit vigil for women who have sadly lost their lives to gender based violence this year. The vigil will be held in Arbroath on 9 December 2024.
