Small Business Spotlight

East Union Cemetery - 150 Years of Service

The East Union Cemetery, located at the corner of Union Road and Louise, is the oldest establishment in the City of Manteca. The original two acres of land it sits on was donated by former County Supervisor Alvin Shedd in 1872 for the purpose of creating a cemetery. The Manteca Historical Society states the cemetery, originally called Union Cemetery, was incorporated in 1872. On May 25th, 2009, the Historical Society dedicated the commemorative plaque that sits on a stone at the corner of Union Rd. and Louise Ave.

Due to a paperwork issue, the cemetery lost its status with the state in 1955. By the time the issue was cleared up, the name, “Union Cemetery” had been taken by a different cemetery in Brentwood, so they added East to the name and became East Union Cemetery.

Much of Manteca's early history, as well as memorials for our fallen military, are forever memorialized at the cemetery and the rich history of how this business has served the Manteca community continues.

Business Assistance Programs - Cycle 4 Coming Soon

Façade Improvement Matching Grant

The purpose of the Façade Improvement Matching Grant (FIMG) Program is to provide financial assistance in the form of a matching grant to commercial property owners and/or business owners to make façade improvements to commercial buildings located within the Manteca city limits.

Small Business Assistance Matching Grant

In our continued effort to support the growth and expansion of our local businesses and prioritize the revitalization of Downtown Manteca, the City of Manteca is excited to release the 2023 Small Business Assistance Matching Grant (SBAMG) Program. Priority areas include, but are not limited to, the attraction and expansion of restaurants and entertainment businesses in Downtown Manteca.

Q: When will the next round of business assistance funding be available?

A: The new budget cycle begins July 1st, 2023. We anticipate announcing the next grant round in late July or early August 2023.
