1. Summer term Free Entitlement actuals – now open (FE providers only)
The Online Provider
Portal (OPP) is now open for Summer term Free Entitlement (FE) actuals claims.
Please read the “Free
Entitlement – additional information for providers” on www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsfreeentitlement and follow the updated guidance
entitled “How to claim child-level funding” available here before submitting any information.
The guidance covers how to claim Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP), Disability
Access Fund (DAF) and Extended FE for eligible 3 and 4 year olds.
Please remember:

Claiming
DAF – you must only
select ‘Yes’ next to ‘Nominated for DAF’ if the signed Parent Declaration form
shows the child is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

30
hour Extended entitlement codes
– parents must have applied for their code before 31 March, therefore, you must
have seen evidence that the parent applied before 31 March for codes
with a start date between 1 and 23 April. Please refer to the 11 April
broadcast item for further information.

2. Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) Summer term claims (FE providers only)
The Early Years Pupil
Premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years settings to improve the
education they provide for disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds.
The
Online Provider Portal (OPP) is now open for you to submit your Early Years
Pupil Premium (EYPP) claims.
EYPP claims must be
submitted at the same time as your Free Entitlement actuals data. Please follow
the updated guidance entitled “How to claim child-level funding” available here before submitting any information.
Important: In order to carry out EYPP
eligibility checks this term we require you to submit the following information
via the OPP ‘Parent/Carer Details’ tab:
- Parent/carer’s full
legal name
- Parent/carer’s date
of birth
- Parent/carer’s
National Insurance (NI) number or National Asylum Support Service (NASS) number

3. Early Years Transition Events
Parents
have now been informed of their children’s school places. As soon as you know
how many children you have transitioning to each school please contact the Family
Information Service on 01243 77807 to book your place at an Early Years
transition event using course code NES02N.
Details of the events can be found on our website, including details
of which schools will be attending each event.
4. 2018 – 2019 Early Years Training Subscription Scheme
Course Bookings now open
It’s that time of year when you may be
thinking about renewing or joining the Training Subscription Scheme. All of our courses have been reviewed and
updated and we have many new courses coming including Paediatric and Adult
First Aid, Fire Extinguisher plus numerous online training courses.
Course bookings are now open. For further
information about course dates and how to book please look at the course
brochure which is available at: www.westsussex.gov.uk/eytraining
You can pay and join the Training Subscription
Scheme by visiting: www.westsussex.gov.uk/IP
Joining the Training Subscription Scheme will
enable you to access face to face training for the average cost of only £10 per
course and a variety of online training at a subsidised rate of £5 per log in.
