1. Deadline Today - Free Entitlement Autumn Term
Estimates reminder (FE Providers Only)
A final reminder that
the Online Provider Portal (OPP) is open for you to submit Autumn term estimates for Free Entitlement 2, 3 and
4 Year Olds.
For further
information on how to claim Extended Free Entitlement, please refer to previous
broadcast dated 14 June 2017 and follow the guidance titled “How to submit
estimates” available here.
If
you have any questions, please contact the Family Information Service
specialist team on 01243 777807 or email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk
2. 30 hours Promotional Materials
Is your
setting offering the Extended Free Entitlement from September? Help
promote the scheme to parents by collecting Extended Free Entitlement (30 Hours
Free Childcare) promotional items from your local Children and Family Centre. Each Free Entitlement setting can collect:
- 30 Hours Postcards
- 30 Hours and Tax-Free Childcare flyers
- A4 30 Hours poster
Please contact your local Children and Family
Centre prior to collecting. Find your local centre: www.westsussex.gov.uk/cfc
Each of the 30 Hours and Tax-Free Childcare flyers
should be inserted into the FIS FE leaflet. If you require more FE leaflets or
more allocation of 30 Hours promotional items, please contact free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk specifying how many
you require.
Please
remember to encourage eligible parents to apply as soon as possible.
Only applications approved by HMRC before 31 August 2017, if the child is also
age appropriate, will start receiving Extended Free Entitlement at the
beginning of the Autumn term. If parents (who would be eligible from Autumn
term) apply after this date they will not receive funding until January
2018 (Spring term).
3. Supervised Contact Vacancies
West
Sussex County Council’s Supervised Contact team has a number of casual supporting
roles available at different locations across the county.
If you are looking for some additional hours and you
would like to help supervise visits of children and young people then this could
be the ideal role for you. The
opportunity is open to all - whether you are out of work, work full-time,
part-time or are retired. This could also be an excellent opportunity for
school based personnel or for Social Work students looking for casual
employment to fit around studies.
The
hours average between 4 and 10 per week, with more hours available if required.
Flexible hours are available
throughout the week and at the weekend.
Supporting this work would involve
meeting parents and children in a neutral child friendly venue, potentially
transporting the child, supervising the visit and writing a short observational
report for the Social Worker.
A DBS check is required for this
role.
A clean driving licence is essential
for this role and use of own car when required.
If you would like to talk about this role in
greater detail please speak to Debbie Cullern on 0330 222 7594 / 07515 332716
or Lis Gohrish (Monday, Tuesday, Friday only) on 0330 222 3762 / 07753 437132.
