Switch your energy supplier and save on your bills
You can get a free quote to lower your energy bills in the second round of the Big Community Switch in Wokingham Borough, which runs to 1 May.
The scheme uses the bargaining power of a large group to help secure lower prices and you will receive a personal offer after you register, which is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
Switching with us means you can benefit from the bargaining power of a large group. Once you've registered, we hold an energy auction where suppliers compete for the opportunity to offer you the lowest energy tariff.
Making the switch to renewable energy helps us to make progress towards our ambition of working towards a carbon neutral Wokingham Borough.

Link road agreed to serve planned new housing
We've agreed to allow part of Waterloo Road in South Wokingham to be diverted, to enable access to the new homes which are going to be built in this area.
Works on this section will be carried out by the housing developers and are separate from our South Wokingham Distributor Road project.
Waterloo Road will be diverted further to the north between the roundabout at William Heelas Way and the junction with Peacock Lane.
This new section will have bus stops, traffic calming measures and pedestrian and cycle crossings. There'll be new side junctions to access new housing, with pedestrians and cyclists given priority when crossing.
Further details are to be confirmed through legal agreements and additional planning applications.
The existing road is narrow, with no footpaths and lined with hedges and ditches, and couldn't be upgraded without harming the local environment. It'll stay open as a quiet pedestrian and cycle route, providing access to a small number of homes.
Our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol is active across the borough, until Monday 17 March due to low overnight temperatures forecast.
Accommodation is available to provide emergency accommodation for those genuinely rough sleeping or at significant risk of doing so. You can refer people needing support to us, following the instructions on our website.
Give your views on digital access to GPs
The body that oversees local health services wants to make it easier to get medical help without having to visit your doctor in person.
Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) is seeking your views as it will soon be choosing an online consultation system to provide to GP practices across the area.
These can offer a range of services, and surgeries can decide which ones are available to their patients. They may include:
- Self-help information, like NHS advice on managing a condition
- Online advice like a symptoms checker
- Access from any device, at home, work or on the go
- Directing you to local services like pharmacies
- Administrative help e.g. requesting sick notes or test results
The ICB’s Primary Care Strategy says patients should be able to request care through a number of routes, including online consultation. Give your views before Sunday (16 March).
Win prizes for getting active this spring
It's time to start enjoying the fresh air more - and the latest competition from Love to Ride gives you another great reason to get out there.
Ride, Walk, Wheel Week is an exciting, week-long active travel challenge that takes place from Monday 24 March to Sunday 30 March.
Whether you cycle, walk, or wheel, you only have to swap one car journey for an active trip - though you're very welcome to do more!
Just log your journeys on the Love to Ride app, and you’ll be entered into a prize draw. The more trips you log, the more chances you have to win.
Remember - it's not about how many miles you do, but getting outside and encouraging others to join in the fun.
