Events to brighten up your summer
As the warmer weather settles in we’d like to remind you of some of the biggest events coming to the borough in the months ahead.
Whether you’re in Woodley, Wokingham or anywhere else, there’s a whole host to get excited about. Full details available for each event in the links below:
 Sign up for e-billing for Council Tax
You can get instant access to your Council Tax bills each month by signing up for e-billing. If you switch, it helps us to reduce costs on sending out paper bills.
This is a convenient and eco-friendly way to pay. It is also completely secure and allows you to check your account anytime and anywhere.
It is faster to pay your council tax online, by phone, or by direct debit and it is easy to sign up for an account on our website.
Select ‘register/sign into your account’ on the webpage to begin the process. You will need your council tax account number and your email address to register.
 New climate hub to help you
Our new climate emergency hub is now live on our website.
The hub helps you to reduce your carbon footprint, sets out how to tackle the climate emergency locally and our path to being a carbon neutral borough by 2030.
The hub features information on local initiatives, with separate sections for residents, businesses and schools for more targeted information. Some of the pages to check out are:
 Check your entitlement for childcare support
Support with childcare costs for working families has been expanded since April 1.
For eligible working families in England, with children aged two to four years, you can now get:
- Up to 15 hours of early education over 38 weeks of the year for two year olds
- Up to 30 hours of early education over 38 weeks of the year for three to four year olds
- Can be used flexibly with one or more childcare providers
- Some providers will allow you to ‘stretch’ the hours over 52 weeks, using fewer hours per week
From September 2024 eligible working families could get to 15 hours support if you have a child between nine and 23 months old.
From September 2025 eligible working families could get 30 hours if you have a child a child from 9 months old up to school age.
