We aim to produce the first census outputs next Spring. We will continue to engage with users throughout the development of the Census 2021 output content and design. We are expecting to hold a consultation this summer and from this we will provide a release schedule. More information will be sent to local authorities as soon as it is available.
The field operation is still in full swing but we are also looking ahead to the Census Coverage Survey (CCS) which begins in May.
The CCS is a short, separate survey that follows the main census. It’ll ask similar questions to the census, just fewer of them. We’ll ask a sample of addresses in selected postcodes across England and Wales to take part.
We use the CCS information, in conjunction with the census data, to produce a consistent set of results, fully adjusted for under (and over) coverage.
Next week's newsletter will contain more details but take a look at the CCS information on our website for further information.
You should have received your final RAG response maps from your CEM this week. This final point (21 April) reflects the conditions towards the end of the field operation and the final push to get all outstanding households to respond.
For more detailed guidance on these response maps, please see our article from the newsletter dated 13 April - Issue 23
Here is a link to our 'Messages for LAs to emphasise in communications to the public'. This is a useful article to share with communication teams, customer services and to add to the census information on your website.
