In Academic Year 2024-25, MI Student Aid will be sending a month end GovDelivery recapping the communications shared that month. This is not an exhaustive list and we encourage you to review all previous messages.
- MI Student Aid has improved its process for identifying Medicaid-eligible students. We now receive updated lists from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) twice a year, in November and April.

The 3rd quarter payment date is scheduled for May 7, 2025. To be included in the 3rd quarter payments, awards must be certified and reimbursements requested by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on May 6, 2025. Only accepted requests that are submitted prior to the payment date will be included in the 3rd quarter payments. Accepted requests that are processed after the 3rd quarter payment date will be included in the 4th quarter payment.

The 3rd quarter payment for Futures for Frontliners/Path 2, and Michigan Reconnect Scholarship/Expansion is scheduled for June 27, 2025.

Payments for MI Future Educator Fellowship and MI Future Educator Stipend are processed weekly.

Payments for Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship and Non-public Dual Enrollment are processed monthly.

To be included in Q3 payments, awards must be certified by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Third quarter payments will be processed beginning Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

It is critical that all certifications possible are completed by the end of Q3. Students who do not move to Paid status in Q3 who have a pending certification in their final initiation semester will require system intervention in the 4th quarter (Q4) payments.

Students must be certified in chronological order in MiSSG.

Transfer students who remain in a Ready to Certify status for Fall or Spring at their sending institution will be unable to be certified at their current institution for Summer. Please contact the sending institution if you identify a student who you need to certify and has prior certifications outstanding.

A recent concern identified during program reviews is the absence of documentation verifying high school completion for awarded students. Institutions must verify high school completion if it is not already confirmed by CEPI. Failure to do so will result in a finding during the program review process.

Financial Aid Administrators can add or update a student’s high school graduation year in MiSSG once it has been verified.
