Michigan Achievement Scholarship Certification Reminder
The Michigan Achievement Scholarship (including the Community College Guarantee) certification deadline for the 3rd quarter (Q3) is approaching quickly.
To be included in Q3 payments, awards must be certified by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Third quarter payments will be processed beginning Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
It is critical that all certifications possible are completed by the end of Q3. Students who do not move to Paid status in Q3 who have a pending certification in their final initiation semester will require system intervention in the 4th quarter (Q4) payments. (See example below).
- If a student’s first payment is still Ready to Pay in their final semester to initiate, the system will not allow additional semesters to be certified until it moves to Paid.
- Example: A student’s last semester to initiate was Fall 2024. They have a Ready to Pay for Fall 2024. Once they move to Paid after Q3 payment they will then be able to have Spring 2025 awards certified during Q4.
- If a student becomes eligible during Q4 and has a final initiation semester impacting your ability to certify, there are steps in place to ensure payment. A detailed GovDelivery will be issued in Q4 with instructions.
Chronological Certification Order
- Students must be certified in chronological order in MiSSG. Thank you to institutions who have been diligent in completing certification!
- Transfer students who remain in a Ready to Certify status for Fall or Spring at their sending institution will be unable to be certified at their current institution for Summer. Please contact the sending institution if you identify a student who you need to certify and has prior certifications outstanding.
