Tuition Incentive Program Update
Exciting news! MI Student Aid has improved its process for identifying Medicaid-eligible students. We now receive updated lists from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) twice a year, in November and April. This enhancement ensures better support and more efficient service for eligible students.
What does this mean in MiSSG?
Some students have been identified as eligible who, in fact, do not meet the eligibility criteria due to reaching their Medicaid eligibility after high school completion. These students may appear eligible in MiSSG. We are currently working to correct these records promptly. In the meantime, we recommend holding off on awarding these students until we have resolved the issue and removed the ineligible students from the rosters. We expect this process to take up to two weeks and will communicate when the records are resolved.
