Free Entitlement Spring Term Estimate payments
Thank you for submitting your Spring term Estimate claims. For all submissions that met the deadline and there are no outstanding queries, payments have been made. Please note that payments can take 3-5 working days to show in your account.
You can log back on to the Online Provider Portal to view your payment summary. Please refer to the Estimate Help guide for step by step guidance on how to do this: www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal
Please note that we will request your actuals data in January and further details will be in a future setting broadcast.

As you may know, every year we carry out the Early Years Census for the Department for Education (DfE). The Early Years Census is crucial because it is used to calculate the amount of funding West Sussex County Council receives for free early education.
The Census is mandatory for all Free Entitlement (FE) providers claiming funding for at least one child in Spring Term 2020. If you are registered to provide FE but are not claiming for any children this Spring Term, you do not need to complete the Early Years Census.
Providers will need to do the following via the Online Provider Portal:
- Submit your Spring Term actuals claim between 2-29 January 2020
- Complete your annual Early Years Census return between 2-24 January 2020
For your information: Headcount day is Thursday 16 January 2020.
