Why do you need to share the most up to date data with us?
As a council we have a statutory duty from the government to ensure that there is enough childcare provision in each area. We regularly monitor this and if there is shortfall of vacancies or types of offerings for childcare we need to encourage new childcare settings looking to start a business to set up (which will become your competitors) to cover any gaps or shortage.
We assess this from the data we are given from all childcare settings across the county. If the information we hold about your business is out of date or incorrect this could result in us assessing the gaps for childcare incorrectly.
- It pays you to keep us up to date.
- It’s easy and takes just five minutes of your time.
- Check your information here - make any updates if needed – confirm the information is correct by pressing submit.
The Department for Education has launched a public consultation seeking views on changes to the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The goal of the reforms is to improve outcomes for all children and reduce workload.
The consultation includes proposed changes to the educational programmes, the early learning goals and the EYFS profile assessment. It also seeks views on one change to the safeguarding and welfare section of the framework to promote good oral health.
The consultation is available here and will run until 31 January 2020.
Findings from the pilot of the draft revised EYFS framework led by the Education Endowment Foundation, in partnership with NatCen Social Research and Action for Children have also been published and can be found here.
School Consultation – Have Your Say
Residents across the county are being asked for their views in connection with the proposals for the reorganisation of rural and small schools in West Sussex.
If you would like to give your views you can access the online consultation here.
The consultation will be open until 25 November 2019.
