New incontinence guidance launched for nurseries and schools

A new resource for managing continence problems in children has been launched by ERIC, the Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity.

In response to requests from families, schools and health care professionals, ERIC, together with the charity, Bladder and Bowel UK, have produced a free, downloadable good practice guide and a short film for school leaders, nursery owners, governors, staff and practitioners.

Managing Bladder and Bowel Issues in Nurseries, Schools and Colleges includes guidance on how to promote good bladder and bowel health, for example how much water should be consumed during the school day and ensuring children have access to clean, well-stocked toilets at intervals appropriate to the needs of the individual child.

The Flu season is approaching: be prepared for winter

As we are now approaching the flu season, NHS England and Public Health England have released information for nurseries, childcare providers and schools, covering winter preparedness, the flu and other important vaccinations, advice on how to prevent outbreaks, and what to do if one does occur.
