Special Broadcast
1. Spring
term Free Entitlement actuals and 30hr codes – advance notice - FE Providers Only
The Online Provider
Portal (OPP) will be open for Spring term Free Entitlement (FE) actuals claims
from Saturday 13 January 2018. This
will allow you time to capture valid 30 hour codes for eligible children as per
the extended deadline for codes below.
Extended
deadline for 30 hour codes
Due to the ongoing
technical difficulties parents are facing, we will fund 30 hours places for
spring term for any parent who has a 30 hours code dated 11 January or earlier. This extended deadline is for Spring term
only and applies to reconfirmations, new 30 hours codes and temporary codes. No
additional evidence is required and you just need to check the date of the
code.
Remember, you can
carry out an instant 30 hour code check using the ‘Online eligibility checker’
via the OPP. See our OPP help guide for further guidance: www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal
Headcount
day: Thursday 18 January 2018.
Deadline for return:
Thursday 25 January 2018.
Further guidance will
be included in the next setting broadcast on Wednesday 10 January 2018.
If
you have any queries please email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk
2. Your Early Years Census 2018 – advance notice - FE Providers Only
Please look out for the Early Years Census
Form which will be available for you to complete via the Online Provider
Portal (OPP) in the next few weeks.
As you may know, every year we carry out the Early Years Census for the Department
for Education (DfE). This is a mandatory
return. The census is important because it is used to calculate the funding West
Sussex County Council receives for free early education. If we do not capture
your claims now, we may not have the funding later on. Headcount day is 18
January 2018.
As usual, we need to collect child-level and setting level information from you
to submit to the DfE. The child-level information will be collected, like we do
every term, via your actuals. Please make sure that you have entered all funded
children for the 2018 spring term when the OPP opens by the advertised actuals
deadline.
It might be helpful to know that the DfE are requesting different information
about qualifications this year, please see attachment for further information.
We will announce when the Early Years Census Form will be available in a
future broadcast.
