1. Inclusion Funding Equipment Amnesty

As you begin a new academic year, and you’ve said goodbye to the latest school starters, many of you may have pieces of specialist equipment funded by the Early Childhood Service (ECS) at your settings that are no longer required. As stated in the document ‘Terms and Conditions of Early Years Inclusion Funding’, equipment will remain the property of West Sussex County Council and must be returned when either the child leaves your setting or no longer requires the equipment.

If you have any specialist equipment funded by ECS that is no longer required, please email inclusionteam@westsussex.gov.uk, or call 01243 777807, to arrange collection. In addition to this, if the equipment has left your setting and transferred to school with the child, please provide us with the name and address of the school to enable us to arrange collection with them.

2. Disability Access Fund - Autumn term claims

The Government launched the new Disability Access Fund (DAF) in April 2017. Remember, settings could receive a one-off payment for three and four year olds accessing Free Entitlement if the child is also in receipt of Disability Living Allowance.

Please refer to the attached briefing note for further information and guidance on who is eligible, what the funding can be used for and how to claim.

You must e-mail a copy of the DLA award letter and signed Parent Declaration form to free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk and follow the updated FE actuals guidance which covers how to submit a DAF claim www.westsussex.gov.uk/ecsportal

The deadline for Autumn term Actuals and DAF claims is Thursday 28 September 2017.

If you have any queries please contact the Family Information Service on 01243 777807 or email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk.
