The deadline for online registrations was in July however I am writing to encourage your school/college to register with us, by Tuesday 12 September 2017, to take part in the consultation.

Anti-Bullying Week

Date for your diary!

Anti-Bullying week is running from 13-17 November this year, where our ambition is to promote this out through our newsletters and hubs... but please tell a colleague / friend too!

The theme for this year is 'All Different, All Equal' and the idea is to help children and young people celebrate what makes them, and others, unique and help them understand why it’s important that every child feels included in school and are able to be themselves.

For more information, visit their website.

Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week

The 5th Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week (WMHAW) will be held from Monday 9 October to Saturday 14 October 2017 at Offington Park Methodist Church, South Farm Road by Broadwater Green.

The aim of the week is to challenge the stigma around mental health and to provide good quality information in a safe and non judgmental environment.

Throughout the week there will be a series of free events, which are open to all. It is expected that over 30 local charities and organisations will have displays in the 'Information Centre'. There will be a variety of workshops and talks designed to promote mental health.

The programme for the week, including further information can be found on their website.

Five to Thrive

Five to Thrive

Your child's body grows better when you give the child good food. Your child's brain grows better when you do five simple things.

Respond * Cuddle * Relax * Play * Talk

Respond: In the first weeks of life, your child's deepest and most primitive areas of the brain are developing. These parts of the brain will control all the basic functions of the body such as sleeping and waking, appetite, and temperature control. When the parent responds to the baby’s attachment behaviours such as crying, back-arching, and chaotic arm and leg movements the baby feels safe. Stress hormones have an adverse effect on this early brain development.
