1. Free Entitlement Summer Term Estimates – last call (FE Providers Only)
A reminder that the
Online Provider Portal (OPP) is open for you to submit summer term estimates
for Free Entitlement 2, 3 and 4 Year Olds. The deadline for estimate submissions
is 17 March 2017.
Please
refer to the previous broadcast dated 22 February 2017 for the important
information and guidance.
Remember,
please do not submit your actual
data at this time. If you do, this information will be overwritten and lost. We
only require estimate information at present and we will request your actuals
data in due course.

2. Extension to existing Provider Declaration 2016/2017 (Existing FE Providers Only)
A reminder
that the Online Provider Portal is open for all existing Free Entitlement (FE) providers to complete the FE Provider
Declaration which has been extended to the end of August 2017.
Please
refer to the previous broadcast dated 8 March 2017 for the important
information and guidance.
Deadline
for submission is 28 March 2017. Failure
to return this form by the due date will stop your summer term payments and
your ‘FE’ Online Provider Portal account will be suspended.
Any
providers wishing to sign up to deliver Free Entitlement for 2, 3 and 4 year
olds for the first time, please contact the Family Information Service on
01243 777807 or email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk for a separate form and do not complete the online form.

5. Reminder: Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Please be reminded all
education professionals have a Mandatory Reporting Duty for Female Genital
Mutilation (FGM) in which all ‘known’ cases of FGM in under 18s must be reported to the police. The
Home Office ‘Mandatory Reporting of Female
Genital Mutilation – procedural information’ document aims to provide understanding of the legal
requirements, a suggested process to follow, and an overview of the action
which may be taken if there is failure to comply with the duty.
Where
to get help
If you
are concerned that a girl is at risk of FGM this must be shared with the Social
Care Referral & Assessment Team and/or the Police.

6. Neglect Training Needs Analysis – Have your Say Survey
It is important for the West Sussex
Safeguarding Children’s Board to understand the current knowledge and skills of
the workforce in identifying and tackling neglect.
In order to do this please click on the link below to carry out a short
questionnaire which should take you no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Your response will be used to plan the most effective way to provide
information and training to the workforce around this type of abuse. We value

7. Thinking of becoming an Early Years Teacher?
