Recycling hints and tips are just a tap away
If you could use some help recycling more of your waste, or creating less in the first place, you can now get advice from a new smartphone app.
As part of the re3 waste management partnership between us, Bracknell Forest and Reading Borough Council, we've joined forces with new start-up Scrapp.
The company's free app for Apple and Android is designed to explain the ins and outs of recycling in an accessible, engaging and user-friendly way.
It's linked to a database of more than 36 million products, and you can scan a barcode to find out the most responsible way to dispose of it.
The app will soon also include bin reminders, which will help you to make the most of your collections and recycle as much as you can.
Postal vote packs on their way to you
If you are voting by post at the local election and the Police and Crime Commissioner election on Thursday 2 May, the first batch of postal ballot packs have now been sent out.
We would encourage you to fill out and return your pack as soon as possible, using a Royal Mail post box.
The arrival of your postal vote will depend on how recently you have applied. The final batch will be sent out on Thursday 25 April and we typically send these by first class post.
If you miss the post, you can hand it in at our offices at Shute End in Wokingham (during office hours) or at your polling station on election day.
Choosing to hand in your postal vote will mean that you must complete an additional form with an authorised member of staff. If you don’t, your vote will be rejected.

New equipment at Sandford Park in Woodley
New look for two Woodley play parks
The playgrounds at Ashenbury Park and Sandford Park, both in Woodley, have been re-opened with a brand new look. You can view the gallery of photos on our Facebook page.
They've had a colourful upgrade, with new play and climbing equipment, new surfacing and improved drainage.
The team wanted to make sure the playgrounds were more accessible, so the old bark pits have been replaced and interactive and accessible equipment included, with our special educational needs and disabilities team involved in both designs and helping choose the equipment.
For more information about visiting the parks, or any other nature park in the borough, visit our parks webpages for maps, how to get there and more.
Spring Covid-19 booster vaccines for most at risk
People aged 75 years and over, those in care homes and those aged six months and over with a weakened immune system are being offered a spring dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

These vaccines have been updated since the original vaccines and target a different Covid-19 variant. You should be offered an appointment between April and June, with those at highest risk being called in first.
You will be invited to have your booster around six months after your last dose, but you can have it as soon as three months. Eligible residents can book online.
