All the fun of the fayre while helping local charities
The Wokingham May Fayre is back on Monday 6 May and promises a fun day for all ages.
Organised by Wokingham Lions Club, the day will run from 10am to 5pm across Elms Field, Denmark Street and Market Place.
As with previous years, it will be a great family day out, with more than 120 stalls covering charities, local crafts, commercial and food vendors.
There will be a funfair, petting zoo, picnic areas, circus performers and children’s rides, as well as stage performances throughout the day.
The event is run to raise much-needed funds for local charities.
Walk for cause close to your heart or support Lions
Woodley and Earley Lions Club is organising a fundraising sponsored walk at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst on Saturday 24 April.
The event features a 5km route around the lakes in the country park, with an alternative 3km route around the Black Swan Lake also available.
You can either raise funds for a charity of your choice, or the Woodley and Earley Lions.
The walk is open to all and is free for those under the age of 12, with a registration fee of £5 for those aged 12 to 18 and £10 for 18 and above.
Visit the club's website to register and download a sponsorship form.
Keep history of wartime heroes alive at militaria fair
The next edition of the Royal County of Berkshire Militaria Fair is being held on Sunday 28 April.
Visit Sindlesham Court in Wokingham from 10am to 1pm and buy, sell and trade wartime artefacts.
It promises to be a great event for collectors, enthusiasts, history buffs and families alike. It’s also a good opportunity to bring along any military antiques you may have at home for a valuation, or to sell.
Entry is £4 per adult and children under the age of 14 get free entry. There is space on site for up to 200 vehicles and donations to the Royal British Legion are welcome.
If you are unable to make this date, the fair will return to the same venue on Sunday 23 June. A full list of future dates is available online.
