Help us make the best use of limited funding
There’s just one week left to tell us your views on how best to balance books and protect services. We’re needing to make difficult budget decisions to ensure a safe financial future.
The combination of consistently low funding from central Government, high inflation and increasing resident needs means our financial situation is as difficult as it has ever been – with savings needed this year and into the future.
Tell us your views on the principles by which we will make financial decisions, long-term changes that could be made and about ways in which the community could help save taxpayers money.
The survey closes next Friday (3 November).
Get winter strong with flu and Covid-19 vaccines
Flu and Covid-19 spread more easily in winter and can cause serious harm to those at greater risk.
If you are eligible, get vaccinated against both diseases for milder symptoms, a quicker recovery and a lower chance of needing hospital care.
It also helps to protect people at risk around you. If you are pregnant, the vaccine offers protection to you and your baby.
Get ready for winter and come forward for your vaccines as soon as you can. Check if you are eligible, and book online, via the NHS app, or by calling 119.
Children can also get protected with the nasal spray flu vaccine – it is quick, easy and helps protect against serious illness. If your child is aged two or three, contact your GP to book their flu vaccine. Other school-aged children will be offered the vaccine at school.

Keep up to speed on road delays
Up-to-date information about disruptions on Wokingham Borough’s roads is available at your fingertips through the One.network website.
This system, which we update in partnership with utility firms and contractors, offers a live view of all current and planned roadworks free of charge.
It allows residents and anyone visiting or working in the borough to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes, or other ways of travelling, if significant delays are expected.
Users can look up their preferred route on a map or enter a street, postcode or town and zoom in for detailed information on roadworks, closures and diversions, traffic restrictions, live incidents and emergencies or public events.
The tool shows exactly where works are happening, who is responsible, how long they are programmed to last and other relevant information like alternative routes.
Earlier this week we announced more details on upcoming changes for waste collections, which are coming in summer 2024. These will help to make savings and reduce environmental impacts. Check the linked webpage above if you missed the announcement.
