Garden waste opt in 2022-23
The garden waste collection scheme takes away garden clippings, grass cuttings, leaves and weeds fortnightly from the kerbside in a 240-litre brown wheeled bin.
Using the service means residents can have 6,240 tonnes of green material collected from the kerbside each year – more than one large skip.
If you are interested in having your garden waste collected, opt in using the button below. If you’re an existing subscriber you should have had a message about this from us.
For existing subscribers, the renewal period will start 1 June because we extended the service this year for 2021-22 subscribers due to Covid-19 related disruptions to the garden waste collection services.
The annual cost of the service is £70 between 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. If you opt in later in the year the cost will be reduced to £60 from 1 June to 30 September and £35 from 1 October to 31 December.
Collections during bank holiday weekend
We'd like to remind you that waste collections will be taking place as usual over the upcoming Bank Holiday.
However, our teams will be hitting the streets from 5.30am, which is an hour earlier than usual - so please be sure to put your waste out in good time to avoid being missed.
You can check your collection day on our website.

Health kiosks at local libraries
Residents are being encouraged to make use of new health checkers, which have been installed for a limited time. The Wellpoint kiosks are located at our libraries in Wokingham, Woodley and Lower Earley and available for the next few months only.
The kiosks allow you to measure your weight, body mass index, body fat content, blood pressure and heart rate. You can also receive information about your cardiovascular risk and a heart score.
No booking is required to use the machines and the tests take around five minutes to complete. They are available to all residents, regardless of age.
Test results can be printed and sent to your email address and there is also an app available to download to keep track. Once a test has been completed, information is provided to signpost you to local services that might help.
