School aged flu vaccination programme 2023-24

A vital part of protecting the whole population from flu is to vaccinate children, who are at risk of becoming unwell and who we also know are ‘super-spreaders’, passing the virus more easily to older people and other vulnerable groups. This year, pupils will once again be offered a free flu vaccination by the school age immunisation service, Vaccination UK.

Bug Busters poster competition guide - September 2023

To support flu vaccination uptake, the Wolverhampton Public Health Team are running a poster competition for all primary school pupils to design their very own “Bug” that can be destroyed by the Bug Busters. Schools are encouraged to give this as an activity to be completed after delivering the KS1 and KS2 Bug Busters assembly presentation and lesson plans. The competition will commence from 11 September 2023 and will close to submissions on 26 September 2023.

Teaching resources and poster competition resources are available at: http://bugbusterkids.co.uk/school-resources.html
