The purpose of this bulletin is to advise you of the following:

Quarter 3 Documents

Please find attached the Quarter 3 templates, Q3 Capital expenditure summary, Q3 Monitoring Return Front Sheet and Q3 UIFSM Year End Calculator, as stated in the attachment Updated Monitoring Reports Required from School 23-24. If the school is monitored monthly we will also require a completed and reconciled cash flow summary.

Tickfield Centre Update

As of 1st April we will no longer be able to hold our user group meetings or any other meetings at the Tickfield Centre. This is a council wide decision. We will instead use the Council rooms at the Civic Centre. The Spring Term User Group, will still be held at Tickfield Centre on the 28th February 2024 .

Funding Check Template

Some schools have requested we share the income record template that we use at our Quarterly and Monthly visits to check your income allocations against the I&E to period 13. Please find the template for 23-24 attached and we will update this for 24-25. Note that not all schools will receive all the funding that is listed e.g. early years funding. We hope you find this optional template useful.

VAT Code H

Please can all schools check that the difference of the H memo code on their full VAT report is less than £1 and make the necessary corrections before submitting to the School Finance Team. This will ensure that corrections get processed in the correct month and anomalies are not carried forward. Thank you for your support on this.

Free - Fixing Your Budget Session

This year the Schools Finance Team will be attending schools to support fixing the budget on FMS. For 2023/24 we had a number of issues with this and hope that this assists schools.

The budget should not be fixed ahead of this session this should be done whilst the SFT are on site. A member of the team will be in touch nearer the time to book the visit. We are pleased to offer this service to schools free of charge.
