Supported green jobs will be of 3 to 6 months in duration and funded by One Manchester as part-time flexible job placements (15 hours per week) paid at Real Living Wage. Recruitment will be targeted to individuals who are unemployed, and who face barriers to employment.
Individuals recruited to the roles will benefit from additional support from a Green Employment Coach providing, employment support, coaching, and referral into aligned training offers.

Catch-22 Employability Team Catch-22 is an employability support service offering advice and guidance to unemployed people throughout the Greater Manchester area including people who may have barriers to get into work. Working with individuals 16 years and above, they support a vast range of individuals in this community-based programme. Creating a bespoke career plan and access to apply for training funds means career options are endless on this programme.
Their trained Connect with Work advisors will support you to develop skills and experiences to prepare you for work through:
• One to one mentoring with a personal advisor
• Job search and application support
• CV writing and interview preparation, including mock interviews
• Support with funding for interview clothes, bus travel to interviews, PPE, DBS checks and subject to approval, we offer funding for courses to allow you to upskill and expand your knowledge

Low Carbon Careers Throughout 2021 Groundwork Greater Manchester will be running a number of employment courses in Rochdale, Manchester and Trafford for young people looking to start their career in the green economy.
Unemployed young people between the ages of 18 and 25 will choose from 3 green economy sectors: the natural environment, waste and recycling, or property retrofitting.
Each young person will undertake 3 to 4 weeks of classroom based learning followed by a 2 week work placement plus support into employment by their dedicated employment coaches.
This programme has been developed with the support of employers to ensure that learners develop relevant new skills as well as a clear understanding of employer expectations and what it is like working in the sector.
Each course includes an accredited health and safety qualification and Carbon Literacy Certificate and is informed by current job and apprenticeship vacancies that local employers are recruiting for, to allow adaptation of course content and opportunities for young people to meet employers and find out about their business.

Leading in uncertainty – Peer support for charity and social enterprise leaders IVAR are running 90 minute drop-in peer support sessions for up to 10 charity leaders at a time, every week, from June, via zoom. Attendees will have a safe space to share challenges, time to pause and reflect, and the opportunity to hear each other’s experiences of adapting to and coping with leading in prolonged uncertainty. The sessions are for leaders of charities, community organisations and social enterprises, based in the UK. The sessions take place weekly, starting in June 2021, until April 2022. Sonder Radio 50+ Sonder Radio is a community radio station for the 50+ demographic in Greater Manchester. Founded in 2016, their key aims have been to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation and advocate digital inclusion. They achieve this by running various creative workshops and connecting people through the content made by the community at Sonder. They encourage people at all skill levels to take part in their workshops, as they are catered to help teach and guide every participant from the ground up. They pride themselves on not leaving anyone behind. There is always, in every person, the capacity to learn something new and at Sonder Radio they hope to provide that experience for everyone that gets involved.
They are on the lookout for people who are 50+ who would like to join a community of like minded individuals to socialise and develop their digital, and creative skills.

Step Together Volunteering For My Future Ex-Offender Course Step Together Volunteering supports participants to build and develop the personal and practical skills needed to move forward. As well as offering progression routes into volunteering, training, and employment. Step Together Volunteering aim to help overcome the barriers ex-offenders face in finding work and this tailored course comprises 20 hours of guided learning, 1:1 mentoring and home learning, CV and interview techniques and a plan to get you into volunteering within your community.
The Factory Academy Construction Kickstart Academies Are you aged 19 to 24, unemplyed and receiving Universal Credit? Do you live in Manchester? Are you interested in kickstarting your career in construction? Manchester is building The Factory, a new home for creativity in the heart of the city. The Factory will present new work by the world’s most exciting artists – and will be home to The Factory Academy, which will help people from all backgrounds to start new careers in the creative industries.
The Factory Academy’s Training Academies are a new series of training programmes designed to introduce young people to the creative industries, gain confidence and learn new skills. They’re fully funded, with no cost to participants, and are open to anyone in Greater Manchester aged 19-24 and on Universal Credit.

Volunteer to become a Reading Coach - helping adults with reading Read Easy UK is a registered charity that works through affiliated local groups to provide one-to-one reading coaching to adults, using trained volunteers. As a volunteer Reading Coach you will receive training, to introduce you to some of the issues faced by adults with reading problems and how to use the Reading manuals. UNEMPLOYMENT FM Radio broadcast and podcast training at ALLFM every month. Sign up! This free course is aimed at people who live in Manchester and have an ‘M’ postcode, and who are currently unemployed. Unfortunately this doesn't include students.
In small groups they train you in all aspects of radio and podcast production. The course will end with a live show on ALL FM 96.9. The aim of the course is, in addition to developing radio skills, to improve your employability such as interview skills, professionalism, communication skills and confidence. It also helps to get people mixing (safely) again and make friends.
The course runs once a month. It entails 4 sessions over 2 weeks: 1 10.30am to 2.30pm: ALLFM Community Radio, Levenshulme Old Library, Cromwell Grove, Levenshulme, M19 3QE
You will need to attend all sessions which will give you opportunities to volunteer at ALL FM as presenter and/or producer after your training and receive your accreditation.

Mental health first aid training opportunity Manchester Local Care Organisation have successfully managed to obtain funding for local people who live or work in Ancoats, Clayton and Bradford to join this free training opportunity. Funded by Manchester Local Care Organisation, these sessions will be held via zoom with a number of dates/times available from July – September.
