The Art of Volunteering – Volunteer Programme - 3 March to 9 May CFCCA are seeking participants (4-7 hours a week) for the exciting socially engaged volunteers programme, The Art of Volunteering. The programme is dedicated to helping unemployed and economically inactive residents of Greater Manchester to gain the skills and confidence necessary to progress into employment and achieve personal goals.
Digital People
A new course for Greater Manchester 16 to 24 year olds who want to work in tech. You don’t need experience or qualifications, just a real interest in digital, motivation and willingness to learn. Sondar Radio Let's Get Digital For people age 50+ Sonder Radio is delivering a 2 week long online project 'Let's Get Digital' - for 50+ residents of Manchester who are not currently in employment, in partnership with Manchester Adult Education Service. The programme includes an introduction to radio, interviews, production and creative writing with a focus on confidence building and team work. The group will produce and present a live radio show together on the Friday to an invited audience.
It's completely free to attend and we will provide laptops and data if this is a barrier. If you have attended one of our face to face courses in the past, you are still very welcome to join us again for a refresh and/or to learn more. One Manchester Understanding CV’s Virtual Workshop (flyer) Virtual Workshop will be running every Thursday 1pm to 2.30pm. Open to all ages, no restriction around being on an out of work benefit. Participants will be required to have a tablet or laptop with a front facing camera in order to access MS Teams and the virtual learning platform. Reform Radio Online Work Club (flyer) Thursday 25 February 3.30pm to 5.30pm Work Club runs on the last Thursday of every month with a full session based on opportunities for the future. It includes a number of speakers who discuss various opportunities available, as well as 1-1s, and pastoral sessions are also available.
Their pastoral team also runs a clinic every Wednesday to support people in their next steps to getting their job. This includes CVs, applications, interviews, etc, and will help you whilst you’re looking for a new role. The clinic is available in one-hour bookable slots from 12pm to 5pm.

Shift Click Shift Click is a brand new, completely free coding bootcamp, aimed at Greater Manchester residents aged 18-30 who are either under-employed or unemployed.
No experience is required, all you need to bring is a willingness to dive in and engage - in return, you’ll come out of the programme with real, current, employable skills, setting you up to succeed in a busy industry in need of skilled people.
The course is delivered online and remotely, and is supported fully by a group of Manchester’s best digital educators and mentors. It also doesn’t affect things like Universal Credit, so you can engage with the course while being supported.

Skills Support for Employment - The Growth Company Skills Support for Employment will help to improve your skills and knowledge, boost your confidence and ultimately put you in a better position when it comes to finding work. The Edge Theatre New courses for unemployed people They will be opening again in January and are launching three new 10 week courses for people who are unemployed. The courses are 2 hours a week. There are 10 free places on each course: 2 x Acting for Fun and Confidence 1 x Creative Writing. The courses will be helpful for people’s confidence and self-esteem, mental health and wellbeing, communication skills, focus and concentration and of course creativity.

Good News – Pupils now have 12 weeks to accept their TMC course offer
Information for School Careers Leads They have some good news for all Year 11’s making an application to The Manchester College, they can now confirm pupils have up to 12 weeks to accept their college application offer. This was originally 3 weeks but they have increased this period following feedback from schools and pupils which we really hope will help everyone going forward now.
After pupils receive their offer they will be sent reminder emails at 4 and 8 weeks to accept their place at the College, if the offer has still not been accepted after 12 weeks it will automatically be made inactive. After the 12 week period if a pupil is still interested in coming to the College and wants to re-activate their application, all they have to do is contact their Admissions Team on the details below and they will reinstate the offer.
