Summer Reading Challenge 2026 – Read to the Beat
As we look ahead to the summer holidays, we are pleased to share information about the Summer Reading Challenge 2026: Read to the Beat, launching on Saturday 4 July 2026. This year's challenge celebrates music, sound, poetry and storytelling, encouraging children to develop a love of reading while exploring their creativity, imagination and self-expression through books and fun activities inspired by rhythm and sound.
We would be grateful if you could help promote the challenge to children aged 4–11 and their families, encouraging them to visit their local library and take part over the summer break.
