Wakonda Beach State Airport has reopened!
The runway at the Wakonda Beach State Airport has reopened.
The runway closed temporarily in February due to turf damage resulting from an aircraft accident. With help from local volunteers and ODAV staff, the runway and parking area are good as new!
Turf conditions remain soft, so we encourage pilots to exercise typical soft field precautions, especially if it has rained recently.

Eugene Municipal Airport
2024 Priority 2 – Resiliency
Airfield Maintenance Facility Design
Eugene Municipal Airport received COAR resiliency grant to design an Airfield Maintenance Facility. Eugene Airport is listed as a Tier 1 airport in the Oregon Aviation Plan V, which means that it is capable of the full spectrum of disaster response operations. A well designed Airfield Maintenance Facility plays a crucial role in preventing future deficiencies and preserving the existing aviation facilities. The upkeep and maintenance of runways, taxiways, lighting, and other critical aviation infrastructure will ensure that Eugene Airport is ready to be of service in the event of a disaster.
Information on the COAR program may be found on our website or by reaching out to COAR Program Coordinators at Grants@ODAV.oregon.gov.

Staff have taken advantage of the dry conditions to get a bunch of mowing done this early in the season. While we have had an early start, a recent incident has taken one of our mowers out of service. Staff will continue to keep up on mowing with limited equipment, but it may take longer than usual. Thanks for your understanding. |
