In Academic Year 2025-26, the Office of Higher Education will be sending a month end GovDelivery recapping the communications shared that month. This is not an exhaustive list and we encourage you to review all previous messages.
- Institutions may begin certifying awards/requesting reimbursements for the Winter/Spring 2026 term/semester now.
- The 2nd quarter payment date is scheduled for February 18, 2026. To be included in the 2nd quarter payments, awards must be certified and reimbursements requested by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026.
- If a student has an award that has been certified or paid for Academic Year 2025-26 and now has a subsequent transaction updating or correcting FAFSA information, the MiSSG School User (Admin I) may update the student’s record in the Application Information section of MiSSG.
-
The manual override feature is now live in MiSSG. This update allows institutions to manually override Michigan Achievement Scholarship students who meet the 15-month initiation requirement but were unable to be certified in MiSSG.
- We have identified a system issue affecting the Clear Ineligible Reasons interface in MiSSG. As a result, School Users are currently unable to update a student’s eligibility status using this function.
- In the meantime, School Users may complete the necessary override by accessing the student’s individual academic year record and using the Student Application section.
- College Administrator Training Form is live.
-
New College Administrators Training web site provides State financial aid program checklists and step-by-step guides for completing a refund worksheet.
- Institutions are encouraged to regularly review and update all State financial aid information on their web sites.
- Submit MSFAA training suggestions via email to Caroline Nurenberg, NurenbergC4@michigan.gov.
- The recording and presentation slides from the webinar are available for review.
- Review new program coordinator contacts.
