FAFSA Transaction Updates
As a reminder, MiSSG will continue to load all 2025-26 FAFSA transactions; including subsequent transactions through July 10, 2026 (unless a student has an award certified or paid reimbursement for Academic Year 2025-26).
If a student has an award that has been certified or paid for Academic Year 2025-26 and now has a subsequent transaction updating or correcting FAFSA information, the MiSSG School User (Admin I) may update the student’s record in the Application Information section of MiSSG. Common reasons for updates may include:
- A change in the Student Aid Index
- Residency Information
- Grade Level, and
- Degree Status.
To update the student’s record, in MiSSG:
- Log into MiSSG and select the student’s application profile (i.e. Michigan Achievement Scholarship, Reconnect, TIP).
- Select “Update Application Information.”
- Update the appropriate FAFSA Data.
- Enter a comment in the “Reason for Update” box explaining the change.
- Select “Save.”
This process may also update a student’s eligibility status, depending on the changes being made.
Note: This same process can be used if a student is being awarded using a transaction prior to the one loaded in MiSSG.
