Each week, the Metro Office of Planning creates a report listing all new land use applications in Jefferson County. These applications can include requests for changes in zoning, conditional use permits, variances, and more. There are a few cases involving property in District 17 that have shown up over the last few weeks.
- A Category 2b review to construct a three-story storage facility and a small parking lot at 12707 Old Henry Road.
- A major preliminary subdivision to create eight lots, also at 12707 Old Henry Road.
- A waiver regarding the required pedestrian connection to an abutting business for a project located at 10611 Fischer Park Drive.
- A community facility review for the EOC Gas Rodeo Building proposed for 10300 Ballardsville Road.
- A waiver from section 5.6.1.B.1 of the Land Development Code regarding animating features for a project located at 11804 La Grange Road.

The next Pop-Up Drop-Off will be tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Fern Creek Elementary/High School (please enter at 8815 Ferndale Road). I mentioned about a month ago that the Louisville Bats are once again hosting 'Metro Council Community Nights' at Slugger Field. These are great opportunities for district residents and members of community organizations to attend a game free of charge. Each attendee gets a reserved seat at the game as well as a voucher for a free hot dog and small soft drink. There are fewer than 100 tickets left for District 17, so please act soon if you plan on taking advantage of this offer.

Berrytown Day is back again! This year's event will be held Saturday, August 2 from 2-8 p.m. at Berrytown Park, 1300 Heafer Road. There will be music, food trucks, vendors, a backpack giveaway to help kids get ready for school, and more. You may recall that there have been several recent improvements to the park as well such as a new playground, a new basketball court, and an expanded walking path. It should be a great afternoon.
