Help Chart the Future of IDL's Annual Report
IDL's communications team is evaluating the use and production of the agency's annual report to ensure it meets the needs of its readers. The team compiled a brief survey, which takes less than five minutes to complete, to help determine how this report is produced in the future, and if IDL should continue to produce printed copies.
Please complete this short survey. Responses are accepted until Friday, Nov. 19.
Active Shooter Training - What Can You Do?
Last month’s shooting incident at the Boise Towne Square Mall reaffirms the importance being aware of our surroundings and prepared to respond and react appropriately in an active shooter situation. An IDL employee who recently watched the FEMA active shooter video suggested others might benefit from this voluntary training opportunity.
The training video runs forty-five minutes in duration. While it can be disturbing in nature, it is informative.
This video and other safety resources are available via the Safety SharePoint intranet page.
If you have suggestions for additional safety training that would benefit our team, please reach out to IDL’s Safety Officer, Vikki Snider via email or by calling 208-267-5577.
Updated Public Information Policy Announced
On Nov. 10 the executive team announced significant revisions to Policy #6, the Public Information Policy. The policy is available on the IDL intranet; you must be connected to the IDL network and need to view this document using Internet Explorer:
This policy also standardizes the use of email signatures across the agency.
Standardizing Email Signatures - Action Needed
Included within the recently updated Public Information Policy is a new standard for IDL email signatures.
We're implementing this new format for email signature blocks to ensure our communications project a professional image and make full contact information for those sending emails readily available.
A guide with copy and paste instructions for setting up your email signature block in Outlook is available on the IDL intranet. Because this document resides on the intranet, you will need to be logged into the IDL network and use Internet Explorer to access it:
Please review this standard and update your Outlook email signature block. This standard now includes templates that feature the main IDL logo, IDL Fire logo and a version with no logo for use on mobile devices (the Outlook mobile app does not support images in email signature blocks). Additionally, the standard accommodates highlighting certifications earned by employees.
Changing your email signature to comply with the new standard takes less than five minutes. Please update your email signature block as soon as possible.
