New Screening Tool Workflow Roll Out!

We are almost ready to roll out a new Screening Tool workflow from the ACCESS Call Center to Entry to Care (ETC) Clinics! Check out the roll out plan below.

While implementation of the Screening Tool for the ACCESS Call Center was in March, adjustments to how the Call Center is sending referrals to BHRS are changing. ACCESS will now be sending new referrals via Avatar by a new workflow, or widget, created by the Screening Tool Design Team and IT. This new workflow will allow us to capture more detailed data that we have not been able to otherwise, such as the number of the referrals being sent!

As a refresher, The Adult and Youth Screening Tools determine the most appropriate Medi-Cal mental health delivery system (e.g., County Mental Health Plan (MHP) or Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan (MCP)) for members who are not currently receiving mental health services when they contact the MCP or MHP seeking mental health services. To clarify, when we say MCP, this is Health Plan of San Mateo or Kaiser and MHP is us, BHRS! Specialty teams are not using the Screening Tool yet, only ACCESS Call Center.

Contractor Incentive Plan Office Hours - 7/30

Q&A

The Contractor Incentive Plan launched on July 1! Caprice will be holding office hours on July 30 from 10-11am. If you haven't received an invite yet, please contact Caprice. There will be Q & A and review of the IP spreadsheet.

There is still time to participate in the plan. Keep in mind, you can complete as many deliverables as you like - there is no requirement. If you are joining the CalAIM trainings (see below) - you can receive payment for that! If you have any specific questions, come to the office hours or reach out to Caprice at cscott1@smcgov.org.

Feedback Results

feedback

Last month we included a feedback survey about this newsletter. Thank you to those who left feedback; it helps us plan content that is relevant and useful. Here's what we heard:

  • "Make it relatable to the clinicians providing the care/services"
    • -> We aim to do this through more CalAIM Stories content which demonstrates how initiatives and policies impact clients. Check out CalAIM Stories in past newsletters, such as Criteria to Access SMHSs and Medical Necessity (December), No Wrong Door (January) and Justice Involved Initiative (February).
  • "I typically don't have the capacity to read these newsletters regularly. I am also unsure how this will pertain to my role moving forward. If I had more context to consider why this is important for me to know, it would make a very impactful difference."
    • -> CalAIM Corner is intended to support BHRS staff and contractors who will be working with CalAIM (clinical, admin, billing, fiscal, contracts and QM) as well as anyone who is interested in learning about the Medi-Cal transformation. This monthly newsletter provides updates on CalAIM implementation at BHRS, explores other key CalAIM initiatives and seeks to address how CalAIM will impact clients and staff.
  • "Make it more fun!"
    • -> Keep reading!
