CalAIM Introductory Training Available Now
Incentive Plan Begins July 1!
BHRS is developing the CalAIM Contractor Quality Improvement Program (CQIP), an incentive program for our contractors to implement CalAIM initiatives that will begin on July 1, 2024. This incentive payment program will support Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder contracted providers as they prepare for changes in CalAIM implementation. The CQIP guidance is focused on implementation of payment reform, behavioral health policy changes and bi-directional data exchange between systems of care for the purpose of improving quality and behavioral health outcomes and care coordination for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. Each entity can earn incentive payments in the CalAIM CQIP by achieving certain milestones that are currently being determined.
Qualifications: All non-profit CalAIM contractors, who bill Medi-Cal for both SMH and DMC-ODS, are eligible to participate in the program. SPPN providers are not eligible. And, agencies only, no sole-proprietors.
Milestones and deliverables outlined in the documentation sent to contractors that are already included in a contract will not be accepted. For example, if a contract already specifies outreach services, then that respective deliverable will not be accepted as part of the program.

The first CalAIM training, Documentation Manual Training, took place on June 20. The next training, Access/Medial Necessity Training, is July 18! Please note, that these trainings are mandatory, but in case you miss a training, they will be posted to LMS the following week.
