“We’re in the red in nearly every ZIP code,” Louisville health officials caution
Dr. Sarah Moyer, Louisville Public Health and Wellness Chief Health Strategist announced Tuesday that the city’s COVID-19 cases are increasing at an alarming rate, and we remain in the red alert level in almost every ZIP code in Jefferson County.
“We know the largest sources of spread are from household contacts, specifically where family members are having gatherings. We’re asking people to be cautious.”

New Mobility Study Shows Increased Workplace Traffic Leading to Risk of Spreading the Virus
A mobility study conducted by University of Louisville health economist, Dr. Seyed Karimi, reported that employee travel to workplaces has increased.
With new “red zone” recommendations released by Governor Beshear, Dr. Moyer expressed her support by asking businesses to allow employees the option to work from home when possible.
“So many of our businesses are doing an outstanding job at following all the Healthy at Work COVID-19 prevention protocols,” Dr. Moyer said. “Please support them. I also encourage anyone who sees businesses not adhering the mask mandate or other prevention protocols to file a complaint by contacting Metro311.”
The Department of Public Health and Wellness recently created new guidance materials to help businesses reduce the risk of COVID19 in the workplace. They include a checklist on what to do if an employee test positive, a checklist for reducing risk, and a FAQ for employees.
