The Dunne Dispatch (School Boundaries Edition, Part 17) - October 30, 2026
Friends and Neighbors,
If you live in the Hayfield or South County pyramids, I would like to encourage you to participate in person or virtually in a community meeting on November 9 at 6:00-7:00 PM to discuss potential changes to school boundaries, including:
- The possible elimination of the attendance island for Halley ES, which would reassign approximately 120 students from Halley ES to either Laurel Hill ES or Lorton Station ES; and
- The possible reassignment of Lorton Station ES from the Hayfield pyramid to the South County pyramid, which would reduce the program capacity utilization at Hayfield MS (from 81% to 67%) and Hayfield HS (from 95% to 76%) and increase the program capacity utilization at South County MS (from 98% to 114%) and South County HS (from 87% to 104%).
Location: South County HS
Date: Monday, November 9 @ 6:00-7:00 PM
Register: Click here for in person or virtual. (Registration is optional.)
I would like to share the following background information with you:
