Annandale Community Insider - May 5

Annandale Students, Families, and Community:

This past Thursday, the Class of 2024 hosted Prom at The River View at Occoquan. It was great to see our students dressed up and enjoying themselves on the dance floor! Looking ahead, on Friday, May 17, we invite our seniors to share where they are headed for college during our Senior Decision Day celebration.

As I shared last week, throughout this spring, we have many exciting events that feature the tremendous talent of our students (and families). I encourage all of you to attend some, or all of our events! On Thursday, our Parent Orchestra, led by Annie Ray, will be holding their spring concert. Designed to encourage families to learn a new instrument or dust off long unused playing skills, our Parent Orchestra has become a popular and fun way to deepen school-family-community connections. Then, on Friday, Senior artists will feature their incredible work at the Senior Art Show. Our band, orchestra, and chorus will hold their spring performances in the coming weeks. There is something for everyone, so join us!

Finally, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week, when we come together to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our staff. Every day, our teachers demonstrate strong commitment to our priorities of relationships and support, high quality instruction, and strong collaboration, to ensure we are a good school for all students. With the support of the Annandale PTSA, Leadership Class, and the Student Services Staff, we have organized daily events to show our appreciation for teachers and staff members. See below for opportunities to help show our appreciation to our incredible teachers!

Have a great week, Atom Nation. As always, reach out with questions.

Shawn DeRose, Principal
