It's the final week of the regular season for our spring teams! There are a lot of scenarios that are in play that will determine if our Atoms will be hosting district tournament games so make sure that you catch all the action this week and help cheer on the teams! Make sure to mark your calendars for the End of Year All Athletes Celebration on May 28, more information below!

Don't miss our on our upcoming concerts! Today is the final day of the spring musical at 2:00 and 7:00pm. Our band and orchestra hit the stage next week for their final concerts of the year!

Atoms Weekly Recap

Here is a quick recap of first week of spring sports

Baseball went 1-1 for the week. The Atoms traveled to Lewis to take on the Lancers and came away with a comfortable 16-1 win as they prepare for the final district game vs Edison on Monday. The Atoms got back on the field Tuesday and hosted the current number one team in the Liberty District, Langley. Langley got up early and ran away from the Atoms to get the win. The Atoms play their final district game Monday with multiple scenarios still in effect for the district tournament seeding on Thursday, so stay tuned!

Softball lost their lone game of the week to Centreville. The Atoms played hard but the Wildcats were too much. The Atoms host Edison Monday in their final game before the district tournament. There is a couple scenarios still in place to determine the Atoms final seeding in the district tournament, so stay tuned!

Boys Soccer traveled to Edison on Wednesday in pivotal match up versus the Eagles. It was a competitive game that was back and forth between the teams that ultimately saw the Atoms emerge victorious! With the win, the Atoms secured the #3 seed in the upcoming National District Tournament that starts Monday, May 13. The Atoms still have one district game remaining at Mt. Vernon Tuesday.

Girls Soccer hosted Edison Wednesday evening and came away with a late goal in the second half to get the 2-1 win over Edison! The Atoms put themselves into a scenario where they could host a first round district tournament game with a win. There are multiple scenarios in play so make sure to check out the game Tuesday evening vs Mt. Vernon. 

Outdoor Track had their final meet Wednesday at Falls Church. The Atoms had some good performances from multiples athletes who locked up a spot in the upcoming National District Track Meet this upcoming Thursday and Saturday at Falls Church.

Boys Tennis completed their regular season schedule with a 1-1 split for the week. The Atoms beat Mt. Vernon on Monday but couldn't keep up with Hayfield on Wednesday. The National District Singles tournament got underway Thursday afternoon at Mt. Vernon. Both Austin Graham and Quang Bui battled hard in their matches but could pull out the win in their first round matches in the district tournament. The Atoms send their doubles teams to the district tournament on Monday.

Girls Tennis had a packed week with three matches in three days. The Atoms went 1-2 over those matches, beating Mt. Vernon Monday but fell to Falls Church and Hayfield in consecutive days. The Atoms sent the top two girls into the district tournament Thursday. Madison Mum had a great match but lost 10-8 in her first round match. Lizzie Gronberg on the other hand won her first match 10-6 to move on to quarterfinals. Unfortunately, Lizzie took on the number 2 seed in the tournament and lost 10-1 to be eliminated from the tournament. The Atoms send their doubles teams to the district tournament on Monday.

Boys Lacrosse won their final game of the season at Osbourn Monday evening! It was a great team effort by the Atoms who now turn their attention to the district tournament where they travel to take on Edison Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.

Girls Lacrosse hosted Edison Monday for their final tune up before the district tournament. The Eagles ran away from the Atoms in the second half to get the win. The Atoms now travel to TJ for their first round game Wednesday at 6:00pm.

Annandale Legacy Wall 

Annandale High School has a rich history of success, community support, and strong alumni base that stretches back to its creation in 1954. There is a legacy that surrounds Annandale that many are proud to be a part of as it feels like home to  those who have walked our halls. As we move into 2024, we want to provide our students, alumni, and community members the opportunity to be a part of the Annandale legacy. Annandale HS Summer Camps

Looking for fun activities for your child this summer? Annandale High School is offering a variety of summer camps this year for current elementary and middle school students led by our own Annandale coaches. Help spread the word to friends, family and neighbors! More information on signups upcoming!

Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp, and they should bring a snack and a water bottle each day. Cash or checks are accepted. Checks should be made out to “Annandale Athletic Boosters”.

Payment is due on the first day of camp or can be made online by clicking on the camps link below (When paying online, there is an additional small fee for processing).

Camp Information

Multi-Sport Camp - Rising 2nd-9th Graders - June 17,18,20,21 ($120): Campers will have fun playing a variety of sports including basketball, kickball, volleyball, soccer, and touch football. They will participate in fun contests and win prizes! Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp. Hours are 8:30am-3:00pm.

Olympics Camp - Rising 2nd-9th Graders - June 24-27 ($120): This exciting camp features team activities including soccer, volleyball, basketball, touch football, and relay races. Campers will also get a chance to compete and earn medals! Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp. Hours are 8:30am-3:00pm.

Basketball - Rising 4th-9th Graders - July 8-12 ($200): Campers will spend each day focused on developing their basketball skills. They will also receive a report card on their basketball abilities, a t-shirt, and a chance to win trophies. Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp. Hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Annandale H.S. Physical Night

Students who would like to participate in sports or band next year will need a valid VHSL physical dated after May 1, 2024. On May 21 at 5:30pm we will be hosting Sport and Activity Health Screenings. This physical will be good for all of next school year. The cost at Annandale is $50 pre-registration and $60 dollars walk-in. This is a donation to the Athletic Training Program so that we can continue to provide state of the art care for our athletes and band members. Click HERE to sign up or scan the QR code below. Rising 9th Grade Activites/Athletics/Clubs Night

The Activities Office will be hosting an information night for rising 9th grade Activities/Athletics/Clubs Night on May 21 at 6:30pm in the main gym. During this session, we will share information about the sports/seasons that we offer, how to sign up for a sport, and when try-outs for each sport begin. A coach, director, or student representative for each program will be available to answer any questions.

All Athletes End of Year Celebration 

We are cordially inviting ALL of our student-athletes and families to the annual Annandale All Athletes End of Year Celebration. The event is set up to reflect, recognize, and celebrate all programs and student-athletes accomplishments from this year. If you played on an athletic team this year, you are invited to this event and we are encouraging business casual attire for this evening. At the conclusion of the event, we will serve cake and drinks in the auditorium lobby for some socializing and mingling, so mark your calendar

ATC Presents The Mean Girls Musical!

May 4 - 2:00/7:00pm

The Mean Girls Musical: High School Version brings the beloved teen comedy to life on stage. Follow Cady Heron as she navigates the treacherous world of high school cliques, led by the infamous Plastics: Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. With catchy tunes, sharp humor, and a timely message about the perils of gossip and social hierarchy, this musical adaptation captures the essence of adolescent drama and the quest for acceptance. Join Cady and her classmates as they learn valuable lessons about friendship, betrayal, and the true meaning of being "fetch." Tickets on sale now!


Band Concert

May 14 -  7:00pm

The Annandale High School Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present their final concert of the year, combining forces in a musical celebration of “Marches, Movies, and Memories.” The concert is free, and we welcome all our Annandale friends and families to come support our talented band students, most especially our graduating seniors.


Orchestra Concert and End of Year Banquet

May 16 -  7:00pm

Orchestra is excited to welcome The United States Air Force Strolling Strings and Katie O’Hara LaBrie to premiere her piece “ATOMS!” written for our school! Featured guests of the performance include members of the Washington D.C. Chapter of The Grammy Recording Academy and Virginia House Delegate Watts. We are proud to showcase our 45 graduating Seniors and perform a diverse repertoire of heritage pieces. Come learn about our different cultures of music and celebrate the end of an incredible year of music making!


Broadway Desserts

May 23 & 24 - 7:00pm 

Broadway Desserts will feature all five of the AHS Choirs performing songs from the stage and is a Broadway Review of sorts. Both group and individual acts will be featured from auditions held earlier in the semester. The students prepare the music, pick their costumes and coordinate their choreography for a fantastic evening of entertainment. Please join us on either Thursday, May 23 or Friday, May 24 at 7:00pm in Watson Auditorium! Tickets go on sale April 22

A special shoutout to sophomore, Tyler Miller. Tyler represented Annandale High School as Second Bass at Virginia All-State Choir! He was one of 386 students from the state and this is his second year representing AHS!

Learners Permit Testing at Annandale

Is your student eligible for a learner's permit (15 years and 6 months old)? Would you like to avoid the long lines at the DMV? Then we have the fix for you. Annandale 10th grade Driver's Education teachers will be offering learner's permit testing after school at 3:15pm for those students eligible for their permit. Students must register through ACE Website. Partners for Safe Teen Driving

Included in Grade 10 Health & PE is one quarter, or 30-36 hours, of in-classroom driver education. To get your driver’s license in Virginia, you must successfully complete, or pass, the classroom portion of driver education. You must also attend a 90-minute parent-teen traffic safety program, Partners for Safe Teen Driving, or PSTD, with a parent/guardian. Annandale High School is hosting five (5) PSTD presentations this school year, one each quarter and two during the fourth quarter. They are free to students enrolled in Health & PE 10 at Annandale HS and begin at 6:30pm in the auditorium. You must attend with a parent/guardian, arrive ON TIME as the door is locked at 6:30pm, and you must remain the duration of the presentation for your attendance to be verified. Choose a date convenient for you and your parent/guardian. You may attend a session outside of your Driver Education quarter.
